Hobby Haven Suite Double Tag Friendship Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Creative Haven stamp & die bundle, Hobby Haven Designer Series Papers (DSP) and Earthy Matte Dots, all of which are part of the Hobby Haven Suite Collection.  The Designer Series Paper prints have objects dedicated to various interests which include baking/cooking, sewing/crafting, plants/decor, reading/books and beauty/spa images. This pack of paper also includes two sheets of die cut punch outs which coordinate with all the prints, allowing you to have many choices to create cards and projects for all kinds of people.

This design was inspired by a team meeting Mystery Card Challenge, and I love the idea of having the tag for part of the message and another part stamped below it.  It's not something I would usually think to do, but I love the way it looks, and the wonderfully large sized messages in the Creative Haven stamp set are the perfect stamps to do this technique with.

You know, I always advise my friends and customers to buy the bundle.  Even if you don't think you'll use part of it, buy it anyhow.  Well, I didn't follow my own advice on this one, thinking I'd be just fine with the dies only.  Ha!  I bought the dies, used them, and then took another look at the stamp set, and decided I needed it for the wonderful messages and the fun decorative elements included in the messages, so I bought it later.  I'm thrilled that I did, and lesson learned, just buy the dang bundle to begin with!

Beverly's Tip of the Day

I'll admit, I sometimes struggle with how to use DSP prints that have multiple images scattered all over.  My first impression is to always try and cut out an image or a grouping to create the general theme.  These DSP prints are wonderful prints, and this layout is a great way to use them.  A strip that covers part of the card front paired with a large-print message is a great way to use the print.

I love that I am always learning new ways to create cards and in turn, share them with you.

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere DSP to Pecan Pie cardstock, adhere to folded card front on left side, 1/4" from fold.  Ink "so happy..." with Early Espresso, stamp in lower right of card front.

Ink "You're the Best" with Early Espresso, stamp onto Pecan Pie tag.  Thread Early Espresso linen thread through both Pecan Pie and Early Espresso tag holes, tie into a bow.  Arrange the tags at opposite angles, adhere to upper center right part of card, partially over DSP strip, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Embellish with Early Espresso Matte Dots.

Here's what the inside looks like:

With all the fun die cut punch outs, it seemed only right to add a couple more inside, along with another message.

Ink message with Early Espresso, stamp in upper part of card.  Choose a couple theme appropriate punch outs, and adhere near the bottom of the inside of the card.
