Garden Gatherings Birthday Panel Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the Garden Gatherings stamp set and Paper Medley Designer Series Papers (DSP).  The elongated hexagon from the Nested Essentials dies provides a perfect raised panel for the simple vase of flowers.  Even though I used only the stamp set for this card, it is certainly worth getting the bundle, as the dies that coordinate with this set expand your design options greatly!  It's well worth it!


Techniques include two-step stamping, die cutting and a panel card fun fold.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

A panel card is an easy way to create a card a little out of the ordinary without any fuss.  A panel card is simply a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel with a smaller piece folded at the top, creating a tent card in the center.  Panel cards are usually shown in the landscape orientation, so creating one in the portrait orientation gives it a little extra something.  

Using the elongated hexagon dies, or any long, narrow shape for the card front continues the vertical presentation of the card, while keeping the overall card stunning and simple.

  • Garden Gatherings bundle
  • Nested Essentials dies
  • Hydrangea Hue cardstock 
    • card base 3 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2    
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 panel
    • 4 x 1-7/8 elongated hexagon die cut
    • 2-3/4 x 1/2 sentiment strip
  • Paper Medley Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/2 x 1/2 (2) black/white diagonal stripe print
    • 5-1/4 x 2-3/4 denim pattern
  • Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Hydrangea Hue Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin' Pad
  • White Baker's Twine
  • Mini glue dots
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere black/white DSP strips to Basic White panel1/16 in from each side.


Adhere Hydrangea Hue folded card base between DSP strips, with fold at top.  Adhere denim print DSP to center of folded card front.


Ink thin vase with Basic Gray, stamp in lower half of elongated hexagon die cut.  Ink small "water" stamp with Hydrangea Hue, stamp off once, stamp inside bottom of vase.


Ink stems with dots at tops with Lemon Lime Twist, stamp inside vase with bottom of stems just touching "water".  Ink dotted flowers stamp with Hydrangea Hue, line up at top of stems over dots, stamp.  Adhere completed piece to upper part of card front with Stampin' Dimensionals


Ink Happy Birthday with Basic Gray, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip, adhere below vase panel.


Tie Baker's Twine into a small bow, adhere at neck of vase with rolled-up mini glue dot at knot.

Wild Bunch Koala Friend Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the adorable Wild Bunch stamp set, which is a Product of the Month set.  These products are available once you have $75 in your cart, and then the product is only $5.  They are exclusive limited edition items, and once they're gone, they're gone.  This set is filled with adorable hand-drawn critters and sweet sayings.

Techniques include fussy cutting and coloring with Blender Pens and White Gel Pens.  To give the eyes a little pop, I added Dewdrops embellishments for his eyes. 😆

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To easily get little pieces out of your die cuts, the Take Your Pick die brush tip is your go-to tool!  This brush tip is designed to attach to the Take Your Pick tool, and comes with a soft foam pad.  Simply set the die with cardstock still in place onto the foam pad, run over it with the brush tip, and the bristles remove those small pieces from the die and the die cut piece all at the same time.  This is a huge time saver and makes it much more desirable to want to work with those small and intricate die cuts.

Here's How It's Made:

On Granny Apple Green die cut circle, ink branch stamp with Garden Green, stamp in upper left area of circle, re-ink and stamp in lower left of circle, facing opposite direction.  Ink message with Granny Apple Green, stamp in center of Basic White die cut circle.  


Adhere DSP panel to folded card front, adhere green circle to left center of card, adhere white circle overlapping at lower right of green circle.


Ink Koala stamp with Basic Gray, stamp onto Smoky Slate cardstock.  Color in ears and chest with White Gel Pen.  To color nose, squeeze Basic Gray ink pad to transfer some ink onto lid, pick up ink with tip of Blender Pen, color in nose, picking up more ink if needed.  Rub tip of Blender Pen onto scratch paper until it runs clear to clean.  Fussy cut out bear.  Ink heart with Barely Blush, stamp onto Barely Blush cardstock, fussy cut.


Adhere Koala to green circle between branches, adhere heart to right side of bear by white circle.


Embellish with blue small Dewdrops embellishments for eyes, and green Dewdrops below message.

Exciting Times Congratulatory Banner Card

 Greetings! 

Today's card features the Exciting Times stamp set coupled with banners from the Nested Essentials dies to create a very simple card.  The background print comes from the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Papers (DSP).


Techniques include die cutting.

Having cards on hand with simple messages that can work for a variety of occasions is always advisable.  Today's card can easily be used to congratulate someone on a graduation, job interview, completing a complex assignment, reaching out to mend fences, reaching a goal, retirement, etc.  Whatever the occasion, this simple message applies for many.

By having cards on hand that are very simple in design and neutral in colors and images also makes it an easy one to send to any male in your life.  This simple layout can be used over and over with completely different looks just by changing up color combos and background prints.

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere DSP panel to folded card front.


Die cut largest banner in Misty Moonlight, second largest in Basic White and third largest in Garden Green.  Ink message in Misty Moonlight and stamp near top of Basic White banner.  Cut Garden Green banner 1/2" from top.


Adhere Basic White banner to Misty Moonlight banner, with top edge under stitching of larger banner.  Apply adhesive to back of large banner, adhere top piece of Garden Green banner to top of larger banner, extending above 1/4".  Adhere bottom piece of Garden Green banner extending from bottom of large banner about 1".  Adhere to card front.


Embellish with Dewdrops embellishments.
