Phrases & Frames Gilded Butterfly Hugs Fun Fold Card

Greetings!

Today's card features a sweet message on a delicately scalloped oval, both of which are from the Phrases & Frames stamp & die bundle.  With soft pinks, beautiful golds and delicate imagery, this card is sure to feel like a warm hug.

Techniques include a overlap panel fun fold, embossing, hot foiling, and die cutting.

This beautiful card was designed and shared by demonstrator Susan Campfield, who helped design the Phrases & Frames stamp set for her Million Dollar Achiever set.  She presented at a local demonstrator event which I attended, and I received the packet with everything, so all I had to do was stamp the message, and assemble the card.  This is just one of the benefits of being a demonstrator - getting to attend events and share ideas and inspiration.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

This is the second card I've shown that is using the new Stampin' Hot Foil System.

During the event I attended this past weekend, I learned that this system can ONLY be used with the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  If you've been a stamper for many years and still use the Sizzix Big Shot for your die cutting purposes, it is not compatible with the Stampin' Hot Foil System.

Scalloped Wishes Golden Framed Sincere Thanks Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the beautiful layered stamped and die cut frames from the Scalloped Wishes bundle set against a backdrop of a dainty print from the Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Using Gold Foil Sheets for the decorative frame and leaves helps to draw attention to the touches of gold in the DSP print.  Topping it off with the new Golden Glow In-Color brings it all together perfectly.

Techniques include two-step die cutting.

==============================================================================

Beverly's Tip of the Day

When working with stamps with openings in the center, it's important to allow the stamp to relax for a bit before pressing the clear block onto it.  The first time I stamped the outline image, I had simply applied the stamp to the block, and it wasn't perfectly oval, so when I tried to line up the detailed die cut frame on the stamped image, it wouldn't line up properly.

It was a lovely surprise to find out the die cut detailed die fit inside the dotted scallops of the larger frame.

======================================================================

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Scalloped Wishes bundle (Save 10% when you purchase stamp set & die with bundle item#)
  • Golden Glow cardstock
    • card base  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
    • scrap for die cut flower
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 3-1/2 x 3 for die cut frame
  • Gold Foil Sheets
    • 3-1/8 x 2-1/4 for detailed die cut frame w/adhesive sheet
    • scrap for leaves
  • Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/4 x 4 flowers on golden background print
  • Pecan Pie Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Golden Striped 3/8 mesh ribbon
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Moody Palette Glossy Dots
  • Adhesive sheets
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
=============================================================
Here's How It's Made:

Apply adhesive on reverse side of DSP panel at center of sides, press end of ribbon onto one side, wrap around front and press other end of ribbon around other side.  Adhere DSP panel to folded card front.

Ink large dotted frame stamp with Pecan Pie, stamp onto Basic White cardstock (See note in my tip section), die cut.  Die cut detailed frame from Gold Foil w/adhesive sheet attached, line up with design on Basic White frame, adhere.  Ink sentiment with Pecan Pie, stamp in upper portion of inside of frame.

Die cut small flower from Golden Glow cardstock, cut 2-leaf die from Gold Foil.  Arrange and adhere in bottom part of frame below sentiment.  Adhere frame to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Embellish center of flower with White Glossy Dot.

Begonia Belle Repeat Image Thank You Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the rose bud image from the Begonia Belle stamp set in a repeating pattern.  This is easily accomplished with the assistance of the Stampin' Positioner.  This tool opens up a whole new world of options for your creativity.

By fussy cutting out an image, popping it up and adding some pearls, this row of images goes from meh to Wow just like that!

Techniques include repeat stamping, fussy cutting and two-step stamping.

==============================================================================

Beverly's Tip of the Day

By using the Stampin' Positioner you have a secure and stable placement of your stamp and cardstock, so if the first time you stamp an image, it's a little light or incomplete in an area, you simply push down the top plate again to fill in the gaps, helping you to get a solidly stamped image every time!   No more wasted cardstock because of a poorly stamped image. That's just one of the benefits of this tool.

Another benefit is fool proof stamping when creating multiple cards with the same image, or for messages on the inside of your card.  Avoid the disappointment of having your card front completed, and then having a mishap when stamping the inside.  This takes away the frustration and gives you a perfectly aligned and solidly stamped message every time.

And...as shown in this card, repeating an image multiple times in a row is a breeze with the small top plate and posts positioned at the top for you to move along.

Clean up is also very easy.  With stamp on plate, use your shammy to clean, or run under faucet to remove ink and dry.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Begonia Belle stamp set (Available for $5 with a $75 purchase, while supplies last)

=============================================================
Here's How It's Made:

Adhere Basic White cardstock to DSP, centering, adhere DSP strip near top of folded card front.

Ink and stamp one flower on Basic White cardstock scrap, fussy cut.  Ink sentiment with Peaceful Pine, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip.  Cut between "Thank you" and rest of sentiment.  Fussy cut around "Thank you".

Wrap ribbon around lower part of card front, tie into knot, position near left side, snip ends.  Secure ribbon by placing Tear & Tape adhesive under a section to right of knot.  Adhere "for everything..." on ribbon near right edge.

Adhere fussy cut flower over 2nd flower in row with mini stampin' dimensionals.  Cut a thin strip from dimensional border, apply to back of "Thank you", adhere below flower.

Apply small and large pearls around raised flower.
