Fern & Flora Better Place Collage Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the beautiful NEW! Fern & Flora stamp & die bundle, along with the Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper (DSP).  These papers capture the beauty of a garden at nighttime, with lush greenery, ferns, and delicate floral accents set against rich, dramatic backdrops.  Absolutely stunning!  The stamp set is filled with nature inspired imagery and heartfelt sentiments, such as the one on today's card.

Techniques include coloring with Stampin' Blends, die cutting, and creating a collage look with layered stamping and die cuts.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

For this card, notice how I used Very Vanilla for the panel and Basic White for the colored flowering plant and the sentiment label.  I find the Very Vanilla gives colors a little bit softer look rather than the starkness a dark color on a white background can sometimes appear.  It also makes the white stand out a bit more for both the plant and the label.

If your natural reaction is to go to white for your base panel, give Very Vanilla or even Basic Beige a try.  It's fun to see how much a non white background can change the entire mood of the card.

    • card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
    • 2-3/4 x 1-3/4 w/adhesive sheet attached 
  • Very Vanilla cardstock
    • 4-1/2 x 3 panel
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 2-1/2 x 1-1/2 for floral die cut
    • 2-1/2 x 1-1/4 for label die cut

    • 5-1/4 x 4 green tone on tone scattered leaves print

Here's How It's Made:

Ink lines texture stamp with Bubble Bath, stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Ink fern stamp with Peaceful Pine, stamp over and to right of texture.  


Ink larger flowering plant with Hybrid Black ink, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, die cut.  Using Stampin' Blends; color in flower centers with Lt. Berry Burst , buds with Dk. Bubble Bath, leaves with Lt. Pretty Peacock.
Ink message with Berry Burst, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, die cut with label die.


Die cut detailed small leaf branch from Secret Sea cardstock with adhesive sheet attached.  Remove backing and adhere over stamped fern, leaning to the right.  Adhere flowering plant at left of branch, with Stampin' Dimensionals.  

Fold ribbon in half, adhere to back of sentiment label, adhere over bottom part of plants and stems with Stampin' Dimensionals.



Embellish with blue large and small butterflies.

Exciting Times Gatefold Birthday Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the NEW! Exciting Times stamp & punch bundle in a gatefold card.  A rounded rectangle punch is a must have and this one is sized perfectly!  The sentiments and images are sized to work with the coordinating punch, making it easy to add thoughtful all-occasion greetings in no time.

Techniques include a gatefold fun fold, using a punch, and coloring embellishments with Stampin' Blends.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

When you can't find an embellishment in the color you want for your project, Stampin' Blends are your go to.  Because they are an alcohol based marker, the color dries onto the embellishment and won't rub off.  Whether you wish to color pearls, rhinestones or any of the white or light colored embellishments, the Stampin' Blends will work.  As the Stampin' Blends come in packs with both a light and dark marker this gives you even greater freedom in the intensity of the color you want.  I find using the writing tip works better, as you can apply a bit more pressure to the embellishment without compromising the tip of the brush tip end.

    • (2) 4 x 1/2 strips
    • Rounded Rectangle punched piece (2-1/8 x 1-1/2)
  • Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Darling Duckling Classic Stampin' Pad

  • Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Combo Pack

Here's How It's Made:

Fold both ends of card base towards center to create gatefold.


Cut punched DSP piece in half lengthwise, adhere one half at top of Calypso Coral cardstock, and other half at bottom, leaving even borders around sides and top and bottom edges.


Ink layered frame stamp with Darling Duckling, stamp onto center of Basic White cardstock. Punch out center and save for inside of card.  Adhere to Calypso Coral panel, centering between top and bottom, with sides extending evenly.


Ink starburst effect stamp with Smoky Slate, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, punch.  Ink birthday message with Calypso Coral, stamp in center.  Adhere to center of Darling Duckling frame with Stampin' Dimensionals.


On card base, adhere Petal Pink cardstock to either side of front pieces, leaving a scant 1/16" at center edge.  Adhere DSP strips at outer edge, centering between Petal Pink cardstock and fold.




Adhere completed Calypso Coral panel to left side of card front.  NOTE: To adhere without extending adhesive beyond edges, apply adhesive to back left edge of panel, and right edge of left card front, stopping 3/8" from top & bottom.  This gives you good adhesion without adhesive showing.


Color two large and one small white Moody Palette Glossy Dot with Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend and embellish.


Here's what the inside looks like:

On remaining Darling Duckling stamped punched piece, ink message with Calypso Coral, stamp in center, adhere to inside of card.
