Today I'm bringing together two techniques along with my unique take on a belly band card. Enjoy!
The Designer Tags Dies offer a beautiful variety of tags with special features such as a cutwork background option, beautiful floral designs that can have a layer under them, or use for stenciling, and gorgeous detailed edges on each tag. These dies are wonderful for creating beautiful tags for your gifts and packages, as well as adorning your card creation. I opted to use the largest tag in the die set on a card front, and because this tag has slot openings at both ends, I ran ribbon through the slots and wrapped it around the card, creating a belly band. I stenciled the rose pattern onto the tag, and added a few more ribbons to it.
Aren't those ribbons gorgeous with their curly, rippled look to them. This technique works with 100% Nylon ribbons. It doesn't work with the cotton or polyester ribbons. To curl the ribbons you use the Heat Tool and heat them up until they curl or ripple.
The Friends are Like Seashells stamp set had the perfect sized "for you" as well as being in a font style that pairs beautifully with this card. This stamp set is full of lovely messages of friendship!
Gather Your Supplies:

- Very Vanilla cardstock
- card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2 OR 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- Shimmery White cardstock
- Basic White Thick cardstock
- *Celebrate Everything Host Designer Series Paper
- 5-1/4 x 4 loops on Shaded Spruce print
- Pale Papaya Classic Stampin' Pad
- Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin' Pad
- Sponge Daubers
- Pale Papaya 3/8" Sheer Ribbon - 10"

Here's How It's Made:
Adhere Celebrate Everything DSP print to front of Very Vanilla card base front.
Die cut roses die out of Thick Basic White cardstock; this is your stencil. Clean out negative pieces with **Take Your Pick Die Brush.
**The Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip makes cleaning out all the small spaces in detailed die cuts a breeze! Simply leave the die on the paper/cardstock after die cutting it, place onto the foam mat and brush over die. This easily removes all the negative pieces from the die cut piece.
Die cut largest tag from Shimmery White cardstock. Position stencil piece over tag, and tape down, or hold firmly in place with hand. Refer to above picture for positioning of stencil on tag. Ink a sponge dauber with Pale Papaya and rub over the cutout of the two roses to color in. Ink a second sponge dauber with Shaded Spruce and rub over leaves to color in. Remove stencil. Ink "for you" with Shaded Spruce and stamp in space above stenciled image.
Score tag so the decorative edge is folded back on one end. Place folded tag edge over open end of card base. Insert one end of Gold & Vanilla ribbon into die cut slot on folded edge of tag, and pull through til cut ends of ribbon meet.
Wrap ribbon around back to front, then insert both ends into die cut slot and wrap around and pull ends through loop so both ends of ribbon are facing up.
Insert Pale Papaya and Evening Evergreen ribbons through die cut slot and tie into a knot around the Gold & Vanilla ribbon knot.
Slide the tag/ribbon belly band off of the card base. Using the Heat Tool, heat ribbon until all ends ripple and curl to your liking. Slide back onto card by gently curling the card a bit so band easily slides on.
Embellish with a small Evening Evergreen Opal Round by the "for you" message.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Ink "wishing you..." with Shaded Spruce and stamp on inside of card.
Position stencil so small flower and leaf is on card edge and fill in with inked sponge daubers to carry through design from front.
