Winter Meadow DSP Paper Pieced Simple Stamping Holiday Wishes

 Greetings!

I love when I see a card that is stunning in its simplicity and today's card is one of those.

I have a stamp club group that meets every other month and we always have a swap amongst us.  This means a theme, template or technique is chosen ahead of time and everyone makes enough cards of that theme to swap with all the other members the evening of the club gathering.  The theme for this particular swap was making a card using scraps of printed papers.  Kara, one of my club members, made a card using 1-1/4" squares of different prints along with a larger square for the sentiment.

I loved the layout of it and the simplicity, so I pulled out my Christmas papers to see what I could come up with.  I tried both the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Papers (DSP) and the Winter Meadow Designer Series Papers (DSP).  After playing with various prints and patterns of the two paper packs, I opted for the Winter Meadow DSP and love how it turned out!

These papers are so beautiful!  They are very peaceful feeling and it's fun to just see glimpses of the various prints. Using a lovely message from the Wishes All Around stamp set fills in the large Basic White piece well and the addition of a few Moody Mauve In Color Dots pulls in the soft berry  colors in the prints.

I'm also very excited to know the Winter Meadow DSP is carrying over for another year! Woohoo!

The Wishes All Around stamp set, dies and bundle are all on the last chance list however, (see below for link to the entire selection of Last Chance items) so make sure to get them before they're gone!

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere Basic White cardstock panel onto Misty Moonlight folded card front.

Position the eight DSP squares on the Basic White cardstock panel so you can see what your spacing will be and to shift around until you feel the layout of lights, darks and prints feels balanced.  Adhere. I recommend the Multipurpose Liquid Glue for adhering these, as it gives you a little time for adjusting placement of each piece.

Ink "sending wishes..." with Moody Mauve and stamp in center of Basic White cardstock 2-1/4 square.  Adhere to Mossy Meadow cardstock, adhere in opening on card front.

Embellish with Moody Mauve In Color Dots.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Ink "may the love..." and "Christmas Greetings" with Moody Mauve and stamp in upper center of Basic White cardstock panel.  Adhere to inside of card.

Adhere a strip of one of the prints from the Winter Meadow DSP near lower edge of Basic White panel.

I loved the layout and simplicity of this card so much and of course I made more than one :).

Here's another one with just a couple different prints used for the front.

Christmas Classics Scalloped Gift Card Box

Greetings!

'Tis the season for giving and gift cards are a wonderful gift, however, we want to have the card wrapped in something adorable.  The Scalloped Gift Card Boxes are the perfect solution!  They are furnished with a removable insert that is designed to sit at an angle in the box with little slots on opposite corners for the gift card to slide into.  All you need to do is add your own decorative touch to the outside to personalize it for any occasion.

I wanted a festive feel to the box and the Shaded Spruce Textured Shimmer Paper provides the perfect base.  These papers are gorgeous!  They come in a three color pack of Shaded Spruce, White and Balmy Blue.  It's hard to see in these photos, but they have a lovely shimmer to them.  To keep the box closed, I created a belly band to wrap around it, then decorated the top with the holly leaves and berry tag die cut from the Christmas Classics dies.  The label die to layer on it for the greeting is part of the same die set, so it all comes together beautifully.  To give added stability to the  Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) I fused it to Sweet Sorbet cardstock before die cutting.  This keeps the rather delicate berries and holly leaves from getting damaged from handling since they overhang the edges of the box a little bit.

You'll notice there's not even any additional embellishments! 😮😁  I tried a few different little gems and pearls, but nothing seemed right, so that told me it's complete just as it is!

Here's How It's Made:

Pre-fold all score lines on box, then fold in sides and secure tabs to create box.  Adhere Shaded Spruce Textured Shimmer Paper to lid of Scalloped Gift Card Box.

Adhere DSP print to Sweet Sorbet cardstock with Adhesive Sheet.  Die cut with large label with berries and holly leaves.

Position "Merry" and "Christmas" onto clear block, ink with Sweet Sorbet, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Die cut with angled corner long label die, adhere berries & holly leaf label, centering.

Wrap Sweet Sorbet cardstock strip around closed box, adhere overlap with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Make sure the band is loose enough to slide off the back of the box.

Apply to strips of Tear & Tape adhesive to top of belly band, adhere assembled decorative label.

Ink "Tidings of Comfort & Joy" with Sweet Sorbet, stamp onto gift card holder.

This gives the recipient a nice surprise message when they remove the gift card!
