Valley In Bloom Special Moments Pocket Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features prints from the Valley In Bloom Designer Series Papers (DSP) with a sweet message from the Phrases & Frames stamp set.  The Everyday Arches dies give the pocket and the message a soft shape perfect for the softness of the Lily Of The Valley blooms.



Techniques include creating a pocket card with a diagonal fold over so both sides of the DSP are shown.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

A pocket card is an easy alternative to a standard card.  

The thing to remember when creating a pocket card is to only apply adhesive around the sides and bottom of the pocket, so you can slide in the piece that fits inside the pocket. I recommend using the Tear & Tape adhesive, not only for it's strength, but also because it is a little thicker which gives a nice gap for the cardstock to easily slide into.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Words & Wishes stamp set
  • Everyday Arches dies
  • Barely Blush cardstock 
    • card base 4-1/4 x 5-1/2    
    • 4-7/8 x 3-5/8
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 3-5/8 x 2-3/8 arch die cut
    • 2-1/4 x 1 arch die cut (smallest die)
  • Valley In Bloom Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/4 x 4  allover green print
    • 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 section of DSP with flowers in corners
  • Peaceful Pine Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Peaceful Pine ribbon
  • White Baker's Twine
  • Barely Blush In Color Butterflies
  • Tear & Tape Adhesive
  • Hole Punch Assortment 
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere green DSP to Barely Blush cardstock panel.


On remaining DSP panel, measure down 2" from upper left corner, mark, score from mark to upper right corner.


Fold DSP over at diagonal score line, adhere to Barely Blush cardstock.  Line up angled edge in Paper Trimmer, cut cardstock 1/16" from folded edge.


Insert Barely Blush triangle piece under folded edge, adhere.



Apply Tear & Tape adhesive to side and bottom edges ONLY, adhere pocket to card base.


 Use hole punch with bubble in middle, punch hole at top of larger die cut arch.  Ink sentiment with Peaceful Pine, stamp onto smaller die cut arch.


Adhere sentiment arch over flap with right edge at edge of pocket DSP. 


 
Thread ribbon through punched opening of large arch, fold ribbon in half, tie with Baker's Twine to secure.  Insert into pocket.

Embellish with Barely Blush In Color Butterflies.
