Words & Wishes Nature Walk Best Wishes Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the Words & Wishes stamp & die bundle paired with prints from the Nature Walk Designer Series Papers (DSP).  Using a Perennial Postage die to cut out the center of the scripted print adds a striking frame to the card.  

Choosing Cloud Cover, Secret Sea and Pecan Pie as the colors for this card is not something I would typically think work together, and yet I love the way it looks!  Drawing color inspiration from the colors used in a pack of DSP continues to expand the many ways we can use them together.

Techniques include two-step die cutting.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

The confetti featured on this card is from the Words & Wishes dies.  I did attach adhesive sheets to the back of the Gold Foil Sheet before die cutting, however, the pieces are so tiny that it was very difficult to peel off the backing.  For many of the die cuts, especially the dots, I simply placed a small dot of Multipurpose Liquid glue where I wanted the dot.  For the little squiggles, the adhesive sheet was easy enough to peel off. 

As with many things in life, trial and error will help you find what works best for you, so don't be frustrated if your attempts don't work the first time.  Try and try again is advice that has served us well through the ages.  😉

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Perennial Postage dies 
  • Cloud Cover cardstock 
    • card base  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
    • 3 x 3 for outline word die cuts
  • Secret Sea cardstock
    • 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 with adhesive sheet attached for detailed word die cuts
  • Pecan Pie cardstock
    • 2 x 5/8 
  • Gold Foil Sheet
    • 2 x 1-1/4 (with adhesive sheet attached - optional)
  • Nature Walk Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 dark blue lines on light blue print
    • 5-1/4 x 4 dark brown script on med brown print
  • Secret Sea Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Adhesive Sheets
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere large DSP panel to folded card front.  Using 2nd largest Perennial Postage die, cut out center of scripted DSP print, adhere to card front, centering.


Die cut both the outline and detailed words.  Peel backing off detailed words and layer onto outline words.  Ink 'To' and 'You' with Secret Sea, and stamp onto Pecan Pie cardstock strip.


Adhere words with Stampin' Dimensionals inside frame and sentiment strip near bottom of frame, overlapping right edge.


Die cut confetti twice from Gold Foil sheet. 



 Arrange and adhere confetti pieces around words.
