Begonia Belle Hues Of Blue Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Begonia Belle stamp set, which is the current Product of the Month limited edition stamp set.  This set is available to purchase for only $5 when your cart has $75 or more in product in it.  These Product of the Month offerings are such a great value! As they are limited edition items, once they're gone, they're gone, so the earlier in the month you order, the better.

Techniques include masking, two-step stamping, fussy cutting, and creating a distressed edge.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

When working with two step stamping images such as the ones used on this card, I find it's easier to stamp the darker part of the image first.  This allows you to see the image through the lighter inked stamp, making it easier to line up.

Here's How It's Made:

To create masks: Ink inner flower part with Misty Moonlight, stamp onto sticky note or masking paper. Ink outer flower part with Balmy Blue, line up over Misty Moonlight stamped image, stamp. fussy cut out around edges.  Repeat so you have two flowers cut out for masking.

On Very Vanilla cardstock, ink and stamp flower near left edge.

Place mask over stamped flower, ink and stamp 2nd flower to right and a little lower than first flower, with left edge overlapping right edge of first flower.

Leave first mask in place, place mask over second flower.

Ink flower again, stamp over first two with just the upper part showing in between the two flowers.  Here's what it will look like with the masks removed.

With masks over first and second flowers, ink outline leaf with Pecan Pie and fill leaf with Crumb Cake.  Stamp three leaves along bottom of flowers.

Remove masks.

Ink dashes stamp with Crumb Cake, stamp off once, stamp at angle around edge of flowers, re-inking and stamping until entire edge is filled.  To distress edges, brush with edge of scissor blade, tear, crinkle and fold over until you like how it looks.  Adhere to Misty Moonlight cardstock panel.

Tear or fold over upper left and lower right corners of Misty Moonlight cardstock, adhere to Basic Beige folded card front.
Ink sentiment with Misty Moonlight, stamp onto Basic Beige, fussy cut around sentiment.
Tie two lengths of Linen Thread into a bow, adhere at lower center of flowers, adhere sentiment over middle of bow with Mini stampin' dimensionals.
