Pop-up Petals Friendship Bouquet on Plaid Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Pop-up Petals stamp and die bundle, which is now on the Last Chance list, so I wanted to feature it one more time before it's gone.  It's such a cute bundle with it's simple images to combine for a variety of options.  This set is a two-step stamping set, meaning that multiple stamps are used to create the floral pieces, so it's easy to combine the colors you want for your bouquets.  So fun!

Techniques include two-step stamping, coloring with Blender Pens and embossing.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To color the butterflies and the leaves on the bouquet, Blender Pens are a great choice.  They pick up whatever ink color you select, and draw it into the tip of the marker.  This allows you to have a temporary marker to color in your image details.  Adding more color is as simple as dipping the tip of the marker back into more ink.  When you are finished with that color, run the marker on some scratch paper until it runs clear, and it's then ready for a new color.

For easy ink pick up, squeeze together a closed ink pad so a little ink from the pad transfers to the underside of the lid.  Open up the ink pad and use the ink on the lid to ink the Blender Pen.  I have it shown here with the Strawberry Slush and Berry Burst ink pads, which I used to color in the butterfly wings and body.  Notice the color variation; the darker area is from the freshly inked Blender Pen, and as the color dissipates, the coloring will lighten.  This makes it a great way to control the color for shading.
