Garden Gatherings Arched Vignette Just a Note Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Garden Gatherings stamp & die bundle which is the perfect bundle for creating custom flower arrangements, whether doing so with stamped images or with die cuts as I've done on this card.  The Everyday Arches dies are the perfect shape to create a lovely arched vignette to hold the flower arrangement, and the Paper Medley DSP print provides a wonderful surround for the vignette.

Techniques include two step die cutting and wrapping linen thread around the neck of the vase gives it a wonderful organic touch and extra dimension.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

A card can have a completely different look and vibe simply with the way you layer your pieces.  By cutting out openings and having the focal point inside the opening makes it feel very different than if the pieces are cut and layered onto the background.

If you're used to adding layers and stacking your die cut shapes onto the base, try switching it up and cutting out the shapes from the layers.  Not only does it give it a different look and feel, but you now have some nice cut out pieces to use on an upcoming project.

Center 3 x 4-1/4 arch die in DSP, die cut.  Adhere to Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  Center 2-5/8 x 3-7/8 arch die inside opening, die cut.  Adhere to folded card front.

Die cut three leafy stems from Garden Green cardstock, two partial open flowers and one closed flower from Petal Pink cardstock.  Die cut rounded vase from Cajun Craze cardstock.

Arrange stems inside arch opening, trimming 1 stem off about 1/2", adhere with multipurpose liquid glue.  Adhere flowers to stem tops with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Apply a short strip of Tear & Tape adhesive to back neck of vase, wrap linen thread around neck of vase multiple times until filled in, apply a strip of Tear & Tape adhesive over thread on back to secure.

Adhere vase to card front with Stampin' Dimensional at bottom.  Ink "Just a Note" with Crisp Cantaloupe, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, cut between words and cut down to about 1/4" high.  Adhere in opening at right of flower arrangement with small pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals.
