Beverly's Tip of the Day

When I'm working with a design such as this, with multiple pieces comprising the decorative feature, I arrange the pieces to my liking, then take a picture of them.  This way, as I remove the pieces to glue them down, I can refer to the picture to get the placement where I want it.  For larger pieces, using a  repositionable adhesive (non-Stampin' Up! product) on the back makes it much easier to place pieces and have them stay put until you've decided on the final design.  Then permanent adhesive is applied to assemble the card.

Here's How It's Made:

Ink small leaf strip stamp with Crumb Cake, stamp along top, beginning close to left edge, of Basic White cardstock panel.  Re-ink and stamp along left edge beginning below left edge of previous stamped image.  Adhere a 2 x 2 square of adhesive sheet to lower right of panel, place open leaf die cut at angle in lower right corner, die cut.  Save die cut branch, as you will be re-inserting it into the opening.  Ink long leafy branch with Secret Sea, stamp off once, stamp along right edge with bottom of stem at bottom of die cut stem.

Ink long leafy branch with Calypso Coral, stamp onto Basic White cardstock scrap, die cut.  Ink short leafy branch with Calypso Coral, stamp off once, stamp onto Basic White cardstock scrap, die cut.  Ink short leafy branch with Secret Sea, stamp onto Basic White cardstock scrap, die cut.  With adhesive sheet attached, die cut open leaf die from Calypso Coral cardstock.

Cut DSP piece diagonally.

Adhere a triangle of DSP at upper left of Basic White cardstock panel, leaving 1/4" exposed on top and left.  Adhere assembled layers to Crumb Cake folded card front.  Peel backing from Basic White open leaf die cut, insert into opening it was cut from.  Position tall Calypso Coral die cut between stamped image and die cut leaf piece.

Ink message with Calypso Coral, stamp onto Basic White cardstock piece, leaving approx 3/8" at left and top.  Position smallest Branching Out label die at left and above message, die cut.  NOTE: the die will extend beyond the piece of cardstock.

Position the die so right and bottom edges are at right and bottom of message, die cut.  This will  give you a label that has curved indentations at upper left and lower right, with right angles at upper right and lower left.

Adhere label at upper left of card, just inside stamped leaf strips.

Position the remainder of the die cuts at lower right of card as shown.

NOTE: I use multiple adhesives when adhering pieces that are overlapping like this.  I used Multipurpose liquid glue for the tall Coral Calypso and short Secret Sea pieces.  The Calypso Coral open leaf die cut had the adhesive sheet on the back, and for the final short Calypso Coral piece, I used 3 mini glue dots.  By using the mini glue dots, it gives it a little height and it allows it to lay down evenly.  If I had used the adhesive sheet or liquid glue and pressed it down, it would have been rippled from going over the different thicknesses of the die cuts beneath it.

Tie bow from Crumb Cake Baker's Twine, adhere at bottom of stems with mini glue dot.  Embellish with Secret Sea small and medium Flat Pearls.
