#DOswts450 - Blog Hop Nature Walk 3-Strip Smile Card

Greetings!

Here's todays sketch:

And here's my card:

Today's card features the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper (DSP), Nature's Symphony stamp and die bundle, and Stone & Vine 3D embossing folder, all of which are from the beautiful Nature Walk Suite Collection.

This sketch is a great option for featuring strips of your favorite DSP. The prints in this pack of DSP are so gorgeous, it was tough to decide which ones to work with. I opted to switch out the circle shown on the sketch and use a layered banner instead.  Since the message is stamped on the banner, I chose a couple little branches to layer below the message.  That's the beauty of a sketch.  It gives you guidelines for placement, and the freedom for you to interpret and adjust to make it your own.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To get the white peeking through on the embossed panel, I used the two-tone cardstock, which has a white center.  Some of the white will show through on the raised edges after embossing, and I further enhanced the amount of white showing by using a fine grit sand paper and rubbing very lightly over the embossed area to expose more of the white inner layer.

Here's How It's Made:

Emboss Dark Old Olive two-tone cardstock, lightly sand over raised images to reveal more of the white inner layer.  Adhere to folded card front.

For the three strips, I cut all three from a 12 x 4 piece of the marbled ombre print.  I cut the very top, the very bottom, and a mid section that was primarily Lost Lagoon colored.

Ink message with Pretty Peacock, stamp onto DSP banner 1/2" down from top.  Layer onto Pretty Peacock banner, below pierced edge, tuck folded ribbon in between, staple together.  Ink small branch with Mossy Meadow, stamp onto Mossy Meadow cardstock, die cut and also die cut the smaller detailed branch from same cardstock.

Adhere 3 DSP strips to card front.  Adhere assembled banner 1/2" from right side of card front, with top slightly above top DSP strip.

Adhere branches under sentiment, with ends extending off both sides.

Embellish with Lost Lagoon Matte Dots.
