Mixed Up Patterns + Hexagon die = Infinite Possibilities

Greetings! 

Today's cards feature the hexagon from the Paradise Garden dies along with the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Papers (DSP).  This card uses a sentiment from the Notes & Totes stamp set.



I've included pictures below of six more cards using this same layout. I had so much fun using these prints and the hexagon die that I had a hard time stopping!  The same layout is used for each card, and you'll notice how different each one feels depending on the prints and colors chosen.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To help decide which combinations of prints and colors to use for the backgrounds, I cut the 12 x 12 sheets of DSP into the individual squares.  Having the individual squares made it easier to mix them until finding the combination preferred. You can get one hexagon out of each 3" square, and two out of the four inch squares depending on how you position the die.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Paradise Garden bundle (Save 10% when you purchase stamp set & die with bundle item#)
  • Notes & Totes stamp set
  • Cloud Cover cardstock 
    • card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 4 panel
    • 2-3/4 x 1-1/4 for sentiment label
  • Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 6 squares for hexagon die cuts
  • Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Cloud Cover 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon
  • Cloud Cover Flat Pearls
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Die cut six hexagons from DSP.  Arrange with a very small space between each hexagon, onto Basic White cardstock panel, adhere, trim off excess.  
Wrap ribbon around panel, tie into knot. Adhere to folded card front.
Ink sentiment, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, adhere over ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Embellish.


Top card: Petal Pink base & ink, Misty Moonlight ribbon, Dear Dots embellishment.
Bottom card: Peach Pie base, Peach Pie & Flirty Flamingo ink, White ribbon colored with Flirty Flamingo ink, sentiment from Fabulous Phrases (no longer available).  Strawberry Slush embellishments.


Top card: Darling Duckling base and ink, Darling Duckling ribbon and embellishments, Notes & Totes sentiment
Bottom card: Balmy Blue base and ink, Mossy Meadow/gold ribbon, Notes & Totes sentiment



Top card: Flirty Flamingo base & ink, sparkle dots, white ribbon.  Sentiment from Paradise Garden stamp set.
Bottom card: Pretty In Pink base, Strawberry Slush ink & ribbon, Fabulous Phrases stamp set (no longer available).


These are just a few examples of the many combinations you can make.  As you can see, simply by changing the color assortment, the card base color and inks and accessories, this template can be used for any occasion.
