Layers of Beauty Embossed Medallion Anniversary Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the Layers of Beauty stamp set and Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Papers (DSP).

Techniques include creating a medallion feature by stamping an image onto melted embossing powder.  It gives the piece a metallic look and adds a big WOW! to your project.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To achieve a smooth metallic look for a medallion feature multiple layers of embossing powder are used.  By swiping VersaMark onto cardstock, adding embossing powder, melting with the Heat Tool, and repeating these steps three more times, a layer thick enough for the pressed image is created.  Multiple layers and thorough heating give it the liquified look to mimic metal.

Gather Your Supplies:

• Layers of Beauty stamp set
• Stylish Shapes dies
• Basic Beige cardstock 
• card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
• Any color cardstock (I used a Petal Pink scrap)
• 2-1/2 x 3 for medallion
• Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper (DSP)
• 5 x 3-1/2 background layer
• 3 x 3 (2) layers for framed sentiment piece
• 3-1/2 x 3 embossed layer
• VersaMark™ Pad
• Copper WOW! embossing powder
• Damask Designs embossing folder
• Crumb Cake Baker's twine
• Natural Matte Dots
• Stampin' Dimensionals
• Heat Tool
• Paper Trimmer
• Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Swipe VersaMark pad over the Petal Pink cardstock piece.  Add copper embossing powder and melt with Heat Tool to set.

Repeat this step three times.  On the fourth time, press the floral image stamp onto the hot embossing powder, and press and hold firmly until embossing powder cools - about a minute.  Gently remove.  Set aside.

Once piece is completely cooled, center image in 1-5/8 circle die, die cut.

Ink "Happy Anniversary" with VersaMark, stamp onto focal point DSP piece, making sure to leave room at top and sides for frame.  Sprinkle with Copper embossing powder, shake of excess, melt with Heat Tool to set.  Center 2-3/8" stylish shapes square on frame DSP print, die cut.  Adhere frame to sentiment piece.

Emboss 3-1/2 x 3 DSP piece with Damask Designs embossing folder.  Adhere large DSP print to folded card front, angling.  Adhere embossed piece near lower right area.

Adhere framed layer onto card front, over embossed layer, near right edge.  Adhere medallion at lower left area of framed piece, with Stampin' Dimensionals at left side to even out with layers on right side.

Tie Crumb Cake Baker's twine into a bow, adhere at lower right of medallion.  Embellish with Natural Matte Dots.
