Greetings!
Today's card started out with a template in mind from a card I received recently. Well, my finished card looks nothing like the layout that inspired me. My inspiration card had a couple of large, layered circles, cut off on the left edge, a beautiful die cut image as the focal point and a simple sentiment label. All of this was assembled onto a lovely, soft DSP print.
My first deviation from the sample began when I struggled to find two DSP prints I felt were subtle enough to use for the background and the top circle. Secondly, I had a hard time finding a die cut that seemed large enough AND coordinated with any of the DSP prints. After looking at my supplies, I decided on the Autumn Leaves stamp set and dies, paired with a Meandering Meadows Designer Series Papers (DSP) print. It still has the same basic layout as the card I was inspired by, but that's the only thing resembling it. 😆
Once the choices were made, the card came together quite quickly. The first goal was to keep the layers small enough so it didn't cover up too much of the DSP print. Even though the stamp set is named Autumn Leaves, by keeping the leaves green and summery, it carries through the color of the tree, and the yellows and blues of the meadow flowers continue the summery vibe.
When working with these lovely nature prints, the Brushed Brass Butterflies and adhesive-backed Dragonflies and Birds are a perfect addition. They're a lovely accent without feeling totally out of scale, and nice and flat, so easy to mail. Embellishments are always fun to add to a card, and even better when you know you can mail it without them poking through the envelope. Yay!

Here's How It's Made:
Cut down DSP print to fit on card front by cutting 2" from left edge and 3/4" from bottom.
Adhere DSP panel to Balmy Blue folded card front.
Ink double leaf stamp with Granny Apple Green, stamp onto Garden Green cardstock, die cut. Die cut longer rectangle from Daffodil Delight cardstock, ink thankful sentiment with Granny Apple Green, stamp in upper half of die cut. Ink "to have..." with Granny Apple Green, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, die cut with small banner die. Die cut shorter, thicker label from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
Adhere Basic White sentiment piece onto lower part of Daffodil Delight label, adhere leaves at lower right of Daffodil Delight label, adhere to Granny Apple Green label, centering. Adhere assembled piece to DSP panel, aligning with fold at left edge of card front, below tree.
Embellish with butterflies and birds.
