Greetings!
Today's card started with me wanting to use the cute little poppies stamp from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set. This set has simple line art images, wonderful sentiments and fantastic dies to round out this bundle. I don't know about you, but for me, poppies are one of those flowers that just seem so vibrant and happy. I know they come in many colors, but that bright red/orange color is how I always picture them, so I had no choice but to color them with the Poppy Parade ink color!
I played around with some different background ideas and landed on keeping it simple with a few strips of cardstock complimenting the shading of the poppies and the leaves. Now I know I could have left them as plain cardstock strips and they would have been just fine. However, embossing them with the crosshatch embossing folder gives them a little something more.
To give the sentiment a little more pop, I added a small strip of Real Red cardstock behind the label. Ribbons and twine are a nice option, but sometimes a simple piece of cardstock does the trick! 😊

Here's How It's Made:
Ink poppies stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp at left side of Basic White cardstock piece, re-ink, stamp again to right of first stamp. Clean stamp. Ink two end poppies and stems with Basic Black Marker, stamp at right side of Basic White cardstock. Color in poppies with Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends and leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.
Emboss all four strips of cardstock with the crosshatch Basics 3D embossing folder. Adhere Basic White panel to Poppy Parade folded card base, then adhere embossed strips, with raised side down, to Basic White panel as shown.
Adhere colored poppies piece to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Ink sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp onto Basic White strip. Adhere 1/8" Real Red strip to back of sentiment piece, centering side to side. Adhere to bottom edge of poppies panel, with Real Red strip aligned at right edge of Poppy Parade card front.
