Greetings!
Today's card is a sweet, whimsical card.
When I attended the annual Stampin' Up! convention earlier this spring, I received the Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Papers (DSP). The print with the little frog sitting on a lily pad quickly became the choice to be the base for today's card. This paper pack is filled with images of various water scenes, some with ducks and other small creatures, as well as a nice variety of coordinating patterns on the flip sides.
The Happiest Day stamp set contains the dragonfly stamp in the perfect style and size to accompany the frog along with a simple "hey" to convey a message for an everyday hello.
Isn't it cute! Such an easy card to make and sure to put a smile on the recipient's face.
The dragonflies are simply designed making them very easy to cut out with a pair of Paper Snips and add a mini stampin' dimensional under the intersection of their wings and body. This bit of dimension makes it look like they are flying onto the scene. The addition of a few small iridescent pearls mimic water droplets on the flower and lily pad.
This is one of the advantages of Designer Series Papers that have scenes printed on them. Use the scene as the main attraction and enhance it with an image or two or even just a sentiment. Make sure to check out the Lily Pond Lane DSP packs, the Thoughtful Journey DSP pack or the Meandering Meadows DSP. All three of these are filled with scenes to fit a variety of preferences and allow you to make beautiful cards easily.
