Greetings!
Today's card features happy colors and lots of easy pieces of cardstock. That means no dies or punches were used in the making of this card. Just scissors and the Paper Trimmer.
When I attended the annual Stampin' Up! Convention last month we had the opportunity to participate in a crafting event which featured some fun layouts and new products. The layout I'm sharing today consisted of two cardstock panels stamped for a tone on tone background, and a simple stamped image on Basic White cardstock. It's an asymmetrical yet balanced layout with lots of angles, so it gives it a very whimsical feel.
The Translucent Florals stamp set has images and greetings that worked just perfectly for this layout. Using the branches stamp for the tone-on-tone panels creates a nice subtle background to accompany the focal point. The leaves and flowers really have that translucent look as the stamp set name indicates, giving them a lovely softness. Adding a simple message with a couple strips of different sizes of cardstock peaking out from behind adds to the fun of this design.
I know it's sometimes challenging to think of simply having all the layers appear a little willy nilly. Some of the people I was stamping with that evening had a hard time with the concept, but that's the fun of creativity. We can always stretch our creative muscles and try things outside our comfort zone. We may just find it gives us a little more freedom to step away from the need for perfection. 😌

- card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2 OR 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- Pumpkin Pie cardstock

Here's How It's Made:
Ink branch stamp with Pumpkin Pie, stamp multiple images onto both pieces of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, re-inking and changing direction of each stamped image.
Ink large leafy branch with Lemon Lime Twist, stamp at an angle onto Basic White cardstock. Ink small single flower stamp with Melon Mambo, stamp blossoms at tops of leaves like shown here:
Adhere stamped Pumpkin Pie cardstock panels at opposing angles, vertically from left to right on Melon Mambo folded card base front. Adhere Basic White stamped panel slightly angled at right side, overlapping center Pumpkin Pie panel, with Stampin' Dimensionals. Wrap White Baker's Twine around card front, tie a bow near right edge.
Ink "You're the Best" with Pumpkin Pie, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip, centering. Using Paper Snips, cut inverted banner points into both ends. Adhere strip of Berry Burst cardstock and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to back of banner with ends extending out both sides. Cut an angle on one or both edges of strips if desired. Adhere to card front over Baker's Twine to left of bow.
Embellish with Melon Mambo Glossy Dots.

Ink two-leaf stamp with Lemon Lime Twist, stamp in lower right corner of Basic White cardstock panel. Ink small flower with Melon Mambo, stamp at top opening of leaves. Adhere to inside of card.
