Sentimental Park and Bee Mine DSP "Let's Celebrate" Card

Greetings!

I was flipping through the January - April mini catalog looking for inspiration today and spied a layout that used two angle pieces of coordinating prints with a simple message in the middle.  I decided to use that for my inspiration for the card I'm sharing with you today.

Whenever I'm trying to figure out the dimensions of something I see, I certainly don't want to use my good papers so I grab a piece of copy paper to cut and arrange until I get it the way I want it.  I loved the angles of the sample and after a couple of tries, found the dimensions I wanted.  I had already decided to use the Bee Mine Designer Series Papers (DSP) and the Sentimental Park stamp set and dies.  The Bee Mine DSP has such fun prints in happy colors, one of which is Sweet Sorbet, which is retiring very soon.  Sweet Sorbet is a beautiful red with just a hint of pink to it, and it pairs beautifully with Petal Pink, which are the two colors in the striped print used on this card.

Isn't it a cute card!  I love the diagonal panels, and the label from the Sentimental Park dies fits so well with the whimsy of the floral print.  This die set comes with so many little flowers to cut out and use to layer onto the flowers around the edge of the label, as a simple embellishment, or even as loose pieces inside a shaker card.  Lots of options!  The Hearts & Flowers embellishments which coordinate with the Bee Mine Suite Collection are the perfect size and colors to fit right in for a little extra shine.  Adding a bow in Sweet Sorbet striped Baker's Twine simply brings even more sweetness to this card.

Always remember your resources for inspiration.  Hopefully my blog is one of them for you 😊.  Wherever you find your inspiration, know that you can make it your own by the colors you choose, the papers you pick, or the stamp set you use.  Here's a picture of my card next to the layout in the catalog that I used for inspiration.

Remember, all items featuring the Sweet Sorbet color are retiring at the end of this month.  Whether it's the cardstock, ink pad, embellishments or various papers you want, you won't want to miss out by waiting.  Check out the Last Chance list below to see all that's going away; many at discounted prices.  Happy shopping!

Here's How It's Made:

On both DSP prints, measure and mark 1-3/4 up from bottom left corner, and 1-3/4 down from top right corner.  Cut diagonally from mark to mark.

Select top piece of one print, bottom piece of other print. Adhere pieces to Sweet Sorbet folded card front with diagonal edges meeting in the middle.  Apply adhesive over diagonal line, adhere Sweet Sorbet cardstock strip, cut off excess on each side.

Apply Adhesive Sheet to Sweet Sorbet and Petal Pink scraps.  Die cut small flowers from each color.  Die cut small label from Basic White cardstock.  Ink "Let's Celebrate" with Sweet Sorbet and stamp in center of label.

Adhere label to angled Sweet Sorbet cardstock strip with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Embellish label with die cut flowers and adhesive backed Hearts & Flowers.

Tie Sweet Sorbet Baker's Twine into bow, adhere to left of label.

The great thing about this design is you can make another card with the two left over pieces of DSP.  Die cut another label, add your sentiment, embellish, and now you have two beautiful cards ready to send when needed.
