Playing In The Rain Kite Flying Dancing Bunny Card

Greetings!

As I was looking at my stamp sets and thinking about what I wanted to post about, as I so often do, I flip through catalogs to look for inspiration.  I knew I wanted to use the Playing In The Rain stamp set and dies, as it's been awhile since I've made anything with them.  They were a must have last year when they were introduced with the release of the Jan-April 2023 mini catalog.  The critters in this set are adorable and the dies have so many extras to help create all kinds of scenes for the critters.  Even though it's certainly a kid friendly set, the messages with it really help bring it into the realm to put a smile on anyone's face.

This stamp set made it very easy to create a little story just with the three panels in the background.  I'm not sure I would have ever thought of it by myself, so having the inspiration from the sample in the catalog made it very easy to copy it and share it with you!

I really liked the simplicity of the sample from last year's catalog, and it also gave me a chance to do a little coloring with the Watercolor Pencils. Normally I would then blend the pencils with a Blender Pen or a Water Painter to give it more of a watercolor look, but this time, I simply left it as is.  I don't know about you, but coloring with colored pencils sure brings me back a bit to one of the things I enjoyed as a young girl.  It really is no surprise that paper crafting and stamping ended up being something I enjoy and love to share with others as an adult.

If you've never worked with the Watercolor Pencils they are like no other I've ever used.  The lead in these pencils is so soft and smooth.  It doesn't drag on the cardstock at all, and however it's formulated, it makes it a joy to work with.  I used both assortments that are available to get all the colors I wanted for this card.  All the pencils are Stampin' Up! exclusive colors, so they coordinate with everything else in the current color collections.
