Something Fancy Perennial Lavender Modern Oval Punch Card

Greetings!

The Perennial Lavender Designer Series Papers (DSP) have such a beautiful variety of prints that it's easy to use them again and again.  For today's card I knew I wanted to use the same shape multiple times on the front of the card, so I had to find what would provide the right sized shape for that purpose.  After looking at a few different dies and not finding what I envisioned, I started second guessing my original idea.  I didn't want to switch my idea so I took another look at my supplies, and decided to give the Modern Oval Punch a try.  Much to my delight it was the perfect size and the card came together pretty quickly after that!  I love a good win!

The four ovals gave the card the look I was going for, however, it still seemed a bit plain.  They were begging for a little something more, and the Linen Thread along with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems provides a little sparkle and gives each oval it's own unique flair.

There are always new ways to orient shapes, prints, colors and more to expand your creativity.  This card layout is one that can easily have the look totally changed simply by switching up the shape of the four pieces.  You could use circle, various sizes of rectangles, tag style shapes and more.  I encourage you to get out your supplies, and try something new.  Depending on the papers, colors and shapes, you can make multiple cards with a unique look to each one.

Gather Your Supplies:

• Something Fancy stamp set
• Crumb Cake cardstock 
• card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2    OR    5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
• 2-1/2 x 2
• Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper 
• 5-1/2 x 4-1/2 white flowers on purple background print
• 5 x 3-1/2 crumb cake/white gingham print
• 9 x 2 white flowers on purple background print
• Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad
• Modern Oval Punch
• Purple Fine Shimmer Gems
• Linen Thread 18-20"

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere white flowers on purple DSP print to Crumb Cake folded card front,. Adhere gingham DSP print, to card front, centering.

With Modern Oval Punch, punch out three pieces from DSP strip.  You will use both sides of this print - two ovals will be the large lavender blossoms print, and one will be the reverse, which is the white flowers on purple print. 

Wrap Linen Thread twice around white flowers on purple punched piece, tie into a small bow.  Trim off excess and save.  

 Ink "May the good..." with Gorgeous Grape, stamp onto Crumb Cake cardstock, center inside Modern Oval Punch, punch.  Tie remaining Linen Thread into a small bow, adhere below "you".

Position all four ovals onto gingham DSP print as shown, adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Embellish with Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
