Frightfully Fun Boo To You Tag Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features products from the Frightfully Fun Suite Collection. This sweet spooky collection has adorable images to stamp, fabulous supporting images to die cut to enhance your projects, and papers in an assortment of prints to give you so many options.  Such a fun collection!  

Techniques include altering a die cut and coloring & shading with blending brushes.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

I shortened the tag for this card as it is quite long.  To shorten a tag die like this, first run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the top part of the tag detail is cut.  Then, place tag on the cutting plate with the top part of the tag extending over the edge of the plates.  The bottom part of the tag die is placed to length desired, lined up along the sides of die cut piece, secured with repositionable tape, and run through the die cut machine for the second time.

This technique works for any die when you wish to modify the length or width.  Just remember to always have the part that was cut first extending beyond the cutting plates to maintain it's original shape.

Gather Your Supplies:

• Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 
• card base  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
• Gorgeous Grape cardstock
• 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 panel
• Basic White cardstock
• 3-3/4 x 2-1/2 tag die cut
• 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 for swirls & stars die cuts
• Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper (DSP)
• 5-1/4 x 4  ghosts and cats on lt. gray background
• Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad
• Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin' Pad
• Highland Heather Classic Stampin' Pad
• Black 3/8" Iridescent ribbon
• Black Baker's Twine
• Small Blending Brushes
• Paper Trimmer
• Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere DSP ghosts & cats print to Gorgeous Grape cardstock, adhere to folded card front.

Die cut tag, shortening to approximately 3-1/4 - 3-1/2", by die cutting tag top edge first, then positioning die bottom at length desired, with sides lined up along die cut edges.  With top of die cut piece and top of die extending beyond edge of plates, die cut.  

Ink ghost stamp with Basic Gray, stamp ghost near bottom of tag.  Ink multiple bats stamp with Basic Gray, stamp off once, stamp in upper left area of tag.  Ink "Boo to you" with Lemon Lime Twist, stamp in upper right of tag.  Rub small blending brush onto Highland Heather ink pad to ink, rub lightly over ghost to give slight shading.

Rub small blending brush onto Lemon Lime Twist ink pad to ink, rub very lightly around edges of tag to give slight shading.  Thread ribbon through hole at tag top, snip to length, fold ends together, wrap black Baker's Twine around ribbon, tie into bow.  

Rub small blending brush with Lemon Lime Twist ink onto ink pad to gather more color, brush onto small square of Basic White cardstock.  Die cut swirls and stars from piece.

Adhere tag to card front, angling.  Adhere swirls at bottom left edge of tag, adhere stars scattered around card front.
