Garden Poetry 3-strip Flower Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the Garden Paradise stamp & die bundle along with the Garden Poetry Designer Series Papers (DSP).  This simple 3-strip layout creates a beautiful backdrop, whether a feature is added on top or the three strips are the main attraction along with a message.


Techniques include background stamping and die cutting.

My inspiration came from a card my dear friend Nicole sent to me recently.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

Using small strips of DSP or cardstock as a feature on a card is a great way to use up scraps or to make as many cards as you can with the pack of DSP.  This template is equally card friendly whether used in a portrait or landscape orientation, allowing for unlimited design options.  

Before you throw out those last pieces of a pack of DSP choose your three pieces you can cut into 3/4" or 1" strips, place them on a cardstock panel, add a message or a simple image and message, and you will find you have a card ready for your next occasion.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Paradise Garden bundle (Save 10% when you purchase stamp set & die with bundle item#)
  • Basic White Thick cardstock 
    • card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 4 panel
    • 4 x 4 for flowers & leaves
    • 3-1/4 x 7/8
  • Garden Poetry Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 4 x 1 (3) three different colors of watercolor wash prints
  • Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Coastal Cabana Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Pearlized Faceted Circles
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Ink texture stamp with Coastal Cabana, stamp off, then stamp onto Basic White panel, repeating until you have covered enough of the middle part of the panel to allow for random exposure once DSP strips are assembled.


Adhere the three DSP strips, with some overlap on adjacent strip, and at various heights. (I recommend dry fitting first, to check if you need to do any more background stamping before adhering the strips)


On Basic White cardstock, stamp large flower stamp in Flirty Flamingo, two-leaf stamp twice with Coastal Cabana and 5-leaf stamp once with Coastal Cabana.  Die cut all pieces.  Apply adhesive to back of flower and attach leaves.


Adhere flower feature to card front over DSP strips.  
Ink message with Shaded Spruce, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip.  Adhere over lower part of flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals.


Embellish with Pearlized Faceted Circles.
