Beautiful Motifs Thinking of You Spotlight Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Beautiful Motifs stamp set & die bundle and the Stone & Vine 3D embossing folder provides the textured background layer.

Techniques include coloring with Blending Brushes.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

Bringing your plant die cuts to life with color is a breeze with the Blending Brushes.  Start by die cutting your plant out of Basic White or a light neutral cardstock.  Ink your Blending Brush by brushing it onto your ink pad.  With your die cut piece laying on a piece of grid paper, lightly brush color onto your die cut.  Use a new blending brush, or the other side of the same brush for the second color.  Typically, it is recommended to use small circular motions when applying color, however, with the delicacy of the die cut used on this card, I found it easier to use small straight strokes to apply the color.  When finished with the Blending Brush, run under warm water to remove excess color from the brush, allow to dry, and it is ready for use the next time.

Blending Brushes come in a set of three and are available in two sizes.  The smaller size works better for precision coloring.

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere embossed panel to folded card base.  Cut banner die cut in half, and adhere to DSP panel, with about 3/8" showing at top, and 5/8" showing at bottom.  Adhere to card base near left edge.

Die cut flower from Basic White cardstock with adhesive sheet attached.  Using Blending Brushes and softly brushing on color, color stems with Soft Sea Foam and  blooms with Daffodil Delight.

Adhere punched circle to DSP panel on card front, slightly below center.  Adhere die cut flower over circle so stem tip is at bottom of DSP panel and top flower at top edge of panel.

Ink sentiment with Daffodil Delight, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip.  Adhere ribbon to back of sentiment strip, attach Stampin' Dimensionals to back of ribbon, adhere over lower part of flower stem, with right edge extending 1/4" beyond right side of DSP panel.

Embellish with Yellow Frosted Dots using Multipurpose liquid glue.
