Delicate Whispers Embossed Garland Happiness & Love Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the Delicate Whispers stamp set and Perennial Postage dies. The sweet, delicate designs in this stamp set create a lovely garland flowing across this card.  The imagery really pops when embossed in white and set against a background of Secret Sea.  Adding a single color in little pops scattered throughout bring warmth to the card, and no matter what the occasion, wishing someone happiness and love is never wrong.


Techniques include heat embossing and coloring with Watercolor Pencils.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

Fine hand drawn images are perfect for coloring in with Watercolor Pencils.  Stampin' Up! has two assortments of watercolor pencils, and they glide on smoothly and evenly.  They can be used with  Water Painters,  Blender Pens, or alone as I've done on this card.  

It's a great way to add a very soft, pastel look to your projects.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Delicate Whispers stamp set
  • Perennial Postage dies
  • Basic White Thick cardstock 
    • card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2    OR    5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
  • Flirty Flamingo cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 4 panel
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
    • 4 x 5/8 (sentiment strip)
  • Secret Sea cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 4 (Perennial Postage die) 
  • Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pad
  • VersaMark Pad
  • Watercolor Pencils assortment 1
  • White embossing powder
  • White 1/4" ribbon (On the Last Chance List)
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Pearlized Faceted Circles
  • Tear & Tape adhesive
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Heat Tool
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

On die cut Secret Sea panel, ink both foliage stamps with VersaMark, stamp the larger at the top left curving to center, and the smaller with the top part meeting the bottom of the previous, and curving to the lower right.  Sprinkle white embossing powder over entire stamped area, shake off excess, melt with heat tool to set.  



Color in flowers with White Watercolor Pencil. Adhere panel to Basic White panel, adhere to Flirty Flamingo panel, adhere to folded card front. 


Ink sentiment with Flirty Flamingo, stamp onto Basic White cardstock strip.  Apply adhesive to back of strip, zigzag ribbon and press onto adhesive.  Apply a strip of Tear & Tape adhesive over ribbon to firmly hold in place.


Adhere sentiment strip to center of card with Stampin' Dimensionals.


Embellish garland with Pearlized Faceted Circles.
