Addressed To You Framed Floral Birthday Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features the versatile Addressed To You stamp set in a color combination of Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather.  This was the color challenge combination for this month from my team leader.  The choice of what to use and how we combine them is completely up to us, and I love how this turned out!  It's the perfect combination for springtime.

Techniques include creating a frame by cutting out the center using the Paper Trimmer, and coloring with Stampin' Blends.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

You can create a frame for your project easily with the help of the Paper Trimmer.  The blade holder on the Paper Trimmer has a line running perpendicular to the cutting line which allows for you to see exactly where the blade is.  This aids in you knowing where to start and stop the inside cuts. 

Begin by deciding the outer dimension for your frame, then choose how thick you want the frame to be.  This example is with a 1/4" thick frame.  Position cardstock at measurement for frame thickness and  line up the blade the same thickness from the adjacent end


cut along the inside, stopping inside opposite end, leaving the same thickness at the edge


Turn cardstock, cut from previous cut line to opposite end, leaving the same thickness at edge

turn and repeat twice more, until the entire inside has been cut.   


A little snip in the corners to clean up edges is achieved with a sharp tipped scissors if need be.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Addressed To You stamp set
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock 
    • card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 4-3/4 x 3  (will be trimmed down once frame is adhered)
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock
    • 4-1/8 x 2-1/2
  • Highland Heather cardstock
    • 4-3/4 x 2-1/2 
  • Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/2 x 3/4 yellow/white stripes print with stripes lengthwise
  • Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Highland Heather Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo Pack
  • Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Combo Pack 
  • Rhinestones Basic Jewels
  • Paper Trimmer

Here's How It's Made:

Cut a 1/4" frame from Daffodil Delight cardstock by inserting cardstock into Paper Trimmer and cutting out the inside. Detailed instructions are above in Beverly's tip of the day section. 


Ink rectangle frame with Gorgeous Grape, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, centering.  Ink flowers with Gorgeous Grape, stamp into open corner of rectangle.
Color flowers with Light & Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends, leaves and dots with Light & Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.


Adhere frame around stamped area.  NOTE:  Basic White cardstock piece will extend unevenly around frame at this point.  Trim Basic White to an even distance around all four edges of Daffodil Delight frame.

Adhere yellow/white stripe DSP strip to folded card front, centering vertically.  Adhere Highland Heather cardstock over DSP strip, centering on card front.


Adhere Basic White stamped and framed layer to card front.



Embellish with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
