Greetings!
Today's card is showcasing the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP) using a wonderfully easy template that packs a great punch. This DSP is one of many that are on sale this month at 15% off so it's the perfect time to get those papers you've been eyeing, and save $$ at the same time. Isn't it a beautiful card! Who knew a 3-1/2 square of DSP could be so stunning. I just learned this technique, of cutting each piece a little bigger (1/4") than the previous strip, and adhering them onto a piece of cardstock. It reminds me of the large canvas panels that are grouped together to fill a wall in an office space or home. I wish I could enlarge these four pieces and put them on my wall. Just like the last card I shared on my previous blog, this card is so simple to make. All you need is the Paper Trimmer, your favorite print from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, a couple pieces of cardstock, a sentiment, clear block, ink pad, your favorite adhesive, and you can make this card in minutes. Woohoo!
The sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set is a wonderful option for this design because of it's nice long length and small font. This keeps the card in balance and the sentiment doesn't take away from the featured picture. The sentiment is so lovely that I decided it was a perfect card to send to my mom. She'll love the picture as well as the thought, so I had to complete the card with another message from the same stamp set to go on the inside. - card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- Fresh Freesia cardstock
- 4-1/4 x 3 panel
- Basic Beige cardstock
- 4-3/4 x 1/2

Here's How It's Made:
Cut DSP print into four pieces. Beginning from left edge of print, cut first piece at 1/2", next at 3/4", next at 1", and remaining piece measures 1-1/4".
Adhere the four DSP pieces, beginning with the two outside pieces, leaving 1/4" at left and right edges of Fresh Freesia cardstock, and spacing middle two evenly in between. DSP will extend 1/4" at top and bottom of Fresh Freesia panel. Adhere to Mossy Meadow folded card front, centering.
Ink sentiment with Blackberry Bliss, stamp onto Basic Beige cardstock strip. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals, over DSP strips, near bottom, centering.
Embellish with Purple Shimmer gems.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Ink sentiment with Blackberry Bliss, stamp in upper center of Basic Beige cardstock. Adhere 1/4" from left edge. Cut a strip from remaining piece of DSP used on front to 4 x 1-1/4, adhere at right of Basic Beige, overlapping slightly.
