Love of Leaves Scattered Leaves of Hope

 Greetings!

The Love of Leaves stamp set and Stitched Leaves Dies have been a favorite from the time they were introduced.  I typically have brought them out in later summer/early fall featuring designs in fall colors, and I thought, why do I not bring it out in spring?  After all it's the season of green and color when all the leaves start emerging.  Using soft shades inspired by the beautiful colors of the Flowering Fields Designer Series Papers (DSP) creates a lovely background for a beautiful card with a simple message.

Isn't it beautiful!  The stamps for these leaves are purposely created to provide the beautiful shading and having the coordinating dies to not only cut them out, but to provide the lovely stitched veining if desired, shows the many ways you can create with the coordination of this stamp set & dies.  Notice how beautiful the color gradation of the DSP print framing helps highlight all the shades of green.  These fabulous Faux Sea Glass Shapes are a wonderful embellishment to use with all kinds of images and add a fun touch to the background of leaves.

Have you been wanting to add a die cut and emboss machine to your crafting, but have been resisting because of the investment?  This is the perfect month for you!  The Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine is on sale for 20% through March 31st!  It's only $48 now, and the Love of Leaves dies all work in the Mini!  You will love how much your creativity expands by the addition of die cuts and embossing!  See the link below for all the details. It's a great way to take your paper crafting to the next level!

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere Flowering Fields DSP shades of green print to Thick Basic White card base.

Ink long willow leaf stamp with Pear Pizzazz, stamp off*, then stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Repeat 3-4 times, stamping leaf in various directions and off the edges.  Repeat process with small heart shaped leaf in Pool Party ink, and serrated edged small leaf with Mint Macaron ink.  Ink each of the three leaves and stamp onto scraps of Basic White and die cut with coordinating die.  Add stitching texture to the individual die cut leaves with die pieces, and also add to one of each shape of leaf on the background.

*Stamping off is a technique in which you stamp onto grid paper once or twice before stamping onto cardstock.  This gives a softer color to your image.

Adhere scattered leaves background layer to DSP panel.  Cut a 1-3/4 circle in Sahara Sand cardstockNote: After trying many colors of cardstock for the little circle, I found Sahara Sand worked the best.  Cut a 2-1/2 circle in white script Vellum Layering Designs.  Adhere Sahara Sand circle behind Vellum circle, then adhere the die cut leaves on top of Vellum.  Here's a close-up for positioning:

Ink "hope changes everything" with Mint Macaron, then rub part of the ink off and press stamp onto Pear Pizzazz to re-ink rubbed off area and stamp onto Basic White strip
This gives your greeting a two-toned look, as you can see above. Use paper snips to cut down to approximately 1/4" wide.  Layer onto strip of DSP, offsetting, and adhere to card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Scatter Faux Sea Glass Shapes generously around background, using the Take Your Pick tool*.

*The Take Your Pick Tool makes attaching small pieces easy and precise.  Use the Putty Tip for easy grabbing and placement of small embellishments.

Here's what the inside looks like:

I chose a sentiment from the Artfully Layered stamp set for the inside message.  It is inked with Pool Party and stamped onto a 2-1/2 square of Basic White cardstock, then adhered to a 4-3/4 x 2-7/8 panel of the shades of greens Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper, and adhered to the inside of the card.

Stamp and die cut a small heart shaped leaf and adhere to message area.
