Nuts & Bolts Valentine's card

Greetings!

The Jan-Jun, 2022 mini catalog is filled with beautiful samples.  I love flipping through the catalog to get inspired and one of the ideas that caught my eye is found on page 13.  The card sample for the Nuts & Bolts stamp set features the robots being "colored in" by simply using the Tailored Tag punch shape as the template, so I had to try it!

It turned out so cute!  And aren't those Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Papers adorable!  The colors in the rainbows were inspiration for this color scheme.  These papers are one of the choices you can earn FREE during Sale-a-bration (Jan 4 - Feb 28, 2022) with a $50 purchase.

Reds and pinks and sweet hearts are great for messages of love, and so are yellows, greens and blues with adorable robots and fun messages!

Isn't he just the cutest!  Creating a mask with the Tailored Tag punch is a great way to add color to this little guy, and adding Silver Metallic Pearls to the tips of his antennae is the perfect accent!

Here's How It's Made:
Apply adhesive to card front between 9-1/4 score line and edge, then fold back onto front and press firmly.  This gives you a finished card front of 4-1/4 x 3-3/4.
Here's a close-up:

Adhere scattered hearts print piece to front of card.  Adhere rainbows print to inside of card leaving a 1/8" frame on right edge.

To create the *mask: Use a piece of grid paper or copy paper and insert into Tailored Tag punch, making sure bottom edge is inserted in as far as it will go, punch.

*Masking is a technique to protect the area beyond where you want the ink by covering it.

Cut scrap down to 3-1/4 x 2-1/2.  Apply a strip of Tear & Tape adhesive to the sides right at edge, then apply a 2nd strip on top of the first one.  This creates enough height to slip cardstock in and out easily.  Adhere onto a scrap piece of cardstock bigger than the punched piece.  Slide cardstock into jig, rub Blending Brush onto Daffodil Delight ink pad to grab ink, then gently rub over punched opening to color in the shape.

Creating a jig such as this makes creating multiple cards a breeze!

Ink robot stamp with Garden Green ink and stamp over colored shaped.  Adhere to Night of Navy cardstock piece, centering.  Adhere to card front with right side overhanging fold approx. 3/4".

Attach Silver Metallic Pearls to the circles at the ends of the antennae on ears and top of head.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Ink "you make..." with Garden Green and stamp on inside of card.  Ink small heart stamp with Balmy Blue and stamp hearts on either side of message.
