Greetings!
Every month my team leader, Dawn Olchefske, posts a creative challenge, and this month's is in honor of the Chinese new year. One of our cards is to include a jade color, which represents prosperity, success and good luck. I started with the background Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper in the Just Jade ombre design, and built my card around that. The card doesn't need to have a theme, it was simply about incorporating the color. I love having a challenge that requires me to start with a specific color, or message, or layout. It leaves the rest of the card open to so many possibilities!
The Season's Blessings bundle was one of the first things I bought last Spring when the new annual catalog was released. This bundle is so versatile! The design of the elements can be combined in so many ways to create arrangements for every season.
Isn't it lovely! The Just Jade color works beautifully with Mint Macaron to give it so much depth just with the two shades of green, and look how perfectly the Genial Gems work for a bit of sparkle. The bright Mango Melody flowers were just the color to give it a nice springy feel. The background seemed a bit flat - no pun intended - so the addition of the Bark 3D embossing folder added just the right touch!

- card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2 OR 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- scrap for basket

Here's How It's Made:
Emboss Abstract Beauty Just Jade ombre print with Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to Mint Macaron card base front.
Ink leafy plant with Just Jade and stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Ink individual stem with Just Jade and stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Ink small and large round flowers with Mango Melody and stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Ink small dot stamps with Pumpkin Pie and fill in centers of flowers. Die cut all pieces using coordinating dies. The leafy plant is one die that cuts it into two pieces.
Adhere one small and one large flower to tall multi-leaf plant.
Place one small flower on single stem, adhere. Adhere large flower to two-leaf plant. Place as shown below.
Ink basket stamp with Mint Macaron and stamp onto Mint Macaron cardstock. Die cut with basket outline die. Adhere to card front at bottom of plant, making sure to cover ends of stems.
Fill in center of flowers with Shimmery Crystal Effects, allowing time for Crystal Effects to set before standing card up. Adhere Genial Gems surrounding plant and near bottom of basket.
The Take Your Pick Tool makes attaching small pieces easy and precise. Use the Putty Tip for easy grabbing and placement of small embellishments.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Ink "May your day..." with Just Jade and stamp onto 2-1/2 x 2-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock. Ink top part of plant stamp with Just Jade and stamp in lower right corner. Ink small flower with Mango Melody, stamp. Ink dot cluster with Pumpkin Pie and stamp in center of flower.
Adhere to 3-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Just Jade cardstock. Adhere to inside of card.
