I can't begin to tell you why hedgehogs seem to be one of those animals everyone thinks are so cute, but they are! The Happy Hedgehogs stamp set introduced this year features adorable hedgehogs, a fabulous little flowering tree and wonderful messages. It's a tough one to not fall in love with! This stamp set is bundled with the Hedgehog builder punch, making it even easier to give your hedgehog the spotlight.
Fun folds are a great way to give your card an out of the ordinary feature. This stamp set has two hedgehogs facing opposite directions, making it ideal for a bridge fold card. The Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Papers, which are FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration (Jan 4 - Feb 28, 2022), provide a wonderful background suggesting these little hedgehogs are outdoors enjoying lots of happy!
Aren't they the sweetest! The green print strip creates a bridge between the two sides of the card, hence the name.

This fold is easy to do and takes the same half sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock, just as a standard greeting card would. It's simply cut and folded differently. The best thing about this fold is that it easily stands up so the recipient of your masterpiece can put it on display to be reminded of how treasured their friendship is by you.
Gather Your Supplies:

- card base - 2 pieces 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, scored at 1-1/4 and 2-1/2
- Basic White cardstock
- 5-3/8 x 1-1/8

Here's How It's Made:
Adhere the two card base pieces together by layering the 3 x 4-1/4 part over the other 3 x 4-1/4 part. This should give you a base that has two sides with folds at 1-1/4 and 2-1/2.
Adhere Sunshine & Rainbow DSP prints as follows:
- Scattered heart print - two outermost sections of card base
- Mini cloud print - two inside fold sections of card base
- Large scattered clouds print - inside back of card base
- Granny Apple Green print - adhere to 5-3/8 x 1-1/4 strip
Ink larger hedgehog with Gray Granite and stamp onto 2" Basic White cardstock square. Ink smaller hedgehog with Gray Granite and stamp onto 1-3/4 Basic White square. Add small grass stamp in front of each hedgehog. Ink "finding a friend..." with Basic Gray and stamp onto 1-3/4 Basic White square. Ink flower tree stamp with Basic Gray and stamp onto 2-1/2" Basic White square. Die cut all of these using the Layering Circle die that most closely fits inside each square.
Fill in trunk and branches of tree with Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. Fill leaves in with light and dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends, color over flower petal lines and center with light Polished Pink Stampin' Blend marker. Color over grass with Granny Apple Green, and over mouth with Polished Pink to highlight their smiles.
Adhere bridge strip to scattered heart panels, 1/16 inch in from outside edges, lower edge 1/2" up from bottom.
Adhere circle with message to inside back panel near upper left. Adhere flowering tree circle to right front, making sure it doesn't extend over outside edge. Adhere both hedgehog circles on bridge strip, with Stampin' Dimensionals, making sure hedgehogs are facing one another.
Adhere small and large Brushed Brass Butterflies near the blossoms on the tree.
NOTE; When this card is folded (one side folded over towards middle, other side extended flat), it should measure 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, so it fits easily inside the envelope.
