Radiant Sunflowers Thanks a Million Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features a happy little sunflower and gorgeous fall images and colors, all of which are part of the Sunflowers Fields Suite Collection.  Having the detailed piercing in the dies is great!  No stamping necessary to create this happy little sunflower.  A message of thanks from the Banner Sayings Punch bundle is the perfect size to accompany this cheerful card.


Techniques include heat embossing, two-step die cutting, and dry embossing.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

The new Neutrals Jute Combo Pack offer a great variety of earth tones perfect for the fall season.  This twine is substantially thicker than Baker's Twine or Linen Thread, so to lessen the thickness, simply twist the twine against the grain to separate the threads, giving you a thinner piece to work with.  The twine that is peeking out from the edges of the sunflower panel was unraveled and separated slightly to achieve the look shown here.  


Jute twine is quite fibrous, so you can get a variety of looks.  Keep it as it comes off the spool for a smoother look, untwist it for a more wavy look, and pull individual threads apart to give it a soft, fuzzy look.  This twine also makes a great natural look as an option for gift wrapping.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Banner Sayings bundle (Save 10% when you purchase stamp set & punch with bundle item#)
  • Radiant Sunflowers dies
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock 
    • card base  5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
    • scrap for sunflower die cut
  • Very Vanilla cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 3-3/4 panel
  • Basic Beige cardstock
    • 2-1/2 x 1-1/2 rounded rectangle die cut
  • Old Olive cardstock
    • 1-3/4 x 1-1/2 sunflower stem die cut
  • Pecan Pie cardstock
    • scrap for flower center die cut
    • 2 x 1 for banner 
  • Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 5-1/4 x 1-5/8 shades of brown small plaid
    • 4-1/4 x 1-1/4 allover floral print
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Softly Woven 3D embossing folder
  • Pecan Pie jute twine
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Heat Tool
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere Very Vanilla cardstock panel to folded card front.  Emboss floral DSP, adhere to plaid DSP, adhere to card front.

Ink message with Versamark, stamp onto Pecan Pie cardstock, sprinkle with gold embossing powder, shake off excess, melt with heat tool to set.  Punch.  Adhere on right side of embossed DSP.


Adhere sunflower stem to Basic Beige die cut piece, adhere flower at top with Stampin' Dimensional.  Apply adhesive to back of Basic Beige die cut, untwist and adhere Jute twine.  Adhere to left side of card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
