Moonlit Flora Double Dutch Gate Fun Fold

Greetings! 

Today's card features prints from the elegant Moonlit Flora Designer Series Papers.  These papers are so gorgeous with the nighttime deep, rich tones, and set against the Berry Burst cardstock for a burst of bright, they are stunning.  The coordinating Fern & Flora bundle provides heartfelt sentiments in a beautiful, flowing font.  Bringing it all together in a Double Dutch Gate Fun Fold allows this card to be displayed in all its glory.

Techniques include a fun fold and die cutting.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

Fun folds are a step up from a standard card and allow you and your recipient to display them in an eye catching way.  A fun fold such as this Double Dutch Gate fun fold is sturdy so the card stands on it's own, and invites you to open it up to see what it says on the inside.  It's a great way to showcase multiple prints and the Moonlit Flora prints provide numerous options.  With only a 3 x 4" piece required as the focal point, one 12 x 12 sheet of DSP gives you material for a whole pack of cards.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Fern & Flora bundle (Save 10% when you purchase stamp set & die with bundle item#)
  • Secret Sea cardstock 
    • 8-1/2 x 10 - scoring and cutting detail shown below
  • Berry Burst cardstock
    • 4-1/2 x 3-1/2 for front panel
    • 3-1/4 x 1-7/8 (2) for gate panels
    • 5 x 3-3/4 for inside panel
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 2-1/2 x 1 for front label
    • 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 for inside panel
  • Moonlit Flora Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 4 x 3 front scenic panel
    • 4-3/8 x 4-1/8 cross stitch on Secret Sea print for front panel
    • 3-1/8 x 1-3/4 (2) small allover fern & flora print for gate panels
    • 3-1/2 x 1-1/4 cross stitch on Berry Burst print for inside bottom
  • Secret Sea Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Berry Burst Classic Stampin' Pad

Here's How It's Made:

Score Secret Sea cardstock at 5-1/2 on long edge. Score at 2-1/8 and 6-3/8 on short edge.
Place cardstock in paper trimmer and cut along 2-1/8 score line from top to 3-1/2" from bottom, repeat with opposite edge of cardstock, making sure the 3-1/2" remaining is on the part that is 5-1/2" to horizontal score line.  


Fold at score lines to create base profile, sides folded to center, top folded down over sides.  When flat, your base should measure 5-1/2 tall x 4-1/4 wide.


Adhere two small prints to small Berry Burst cardstock pieces, adhere to two lower gate fold pieces.  

Adhere blue cross stitch DSP print to top front flap.  Adhere scene print to Berry Burst cardstock, then adhere to cross stitch print, centering.


Wrap ribbon around lower bottom of front panel, tie bow at right side.  Ink label frame stamp with Secret Sea, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, die cut.  Ink sentiment with Berry Burst, stamp inside frame, adhere over ribbon at left of bow, with Stampin' Dimensionals.


On remaining Basic White panel, ink message stamps with Berry Burst, stamp in upper area of panel, adhere to Berry Burst panel, adhere to inside of card.


Adhere DSP strip along bottom of Basic White cardstock.
