Sweet Days of Autumn Telescoping Unbounded Love Baby Card

Greetings! 

I recently was introduced to a fun technique called telescoping, so I have to share.  It uses dies that are the same shape in multiple sizes, so the layers can be stepped up in thickness, creating a telescoping effect around a word or image.  I opted to use a print from the new memory keeping Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the rounded edge rectangle dies from the Nested Essentials die set.  


Isn't it adorable!  If you haven't checked out the new memory keeping section when you're shopping, you may have missed this fun set of prints.  These are new additions that just became available the beginning of September, and there are many great new papers and stamps to choose from.  Many coordinate with items in the Sept-Dec mini catalog, giving you more options. The print with the little bear actually has quite a few critters on it.  I chose the bear because I could frame the dies around it without any other animals other than the little birds being part of the image. Adding a banner with a "hello little one" sentiment from the Unbounded Love stamp set seemed the perfect message to go with this cute little bear.

I encourage you to take time to check out all the new memory keeping products.  There are many wonderful items that will work well for card making, fun new two-tone cardstock, stamp sets with nice big words and scrapbooking kits, so if you've always wanted to try scrapbooking, this gives you an easy step-by-step way to begin.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Unbounded Love stamp set
  • Basic Beige cardstock 
    • card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2    OR    5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
  • Petal Pink cardstock
    • 2 x 1-1/4
  • Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper 
    • 5-1/4 x 4 small triangle trees on Early Espresso 
    • 4 x 4 bear near center with leaves, trees and birds 
  • Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Tear & Tape adhesive
  • Foam adhesive strips
  • Nested Essentials dies

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere DSP panel to Basic Beige folded card front.

Position three largest rounded corner rectangle dies onto DSP, positioning so bear is in middle die, and outer two dies are framing trees and flowers.  Secure in place with repositionable tape or sticky notes, die cut.  


Die cut Petal Pink cardstock with 2nd smallest banner die.  Ink sentiment with Early Espresso and stamp near bottom of banner.  Position banner and die cut bear piece on card front.  Adhere bear with Tear & Tape adhesive.


Cut 1/8" wide strips from outer edges of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals sheet, adhere to back of die cut frame piece that will abut bear.  Position around bear and adhere.  Adhere Foam adhesive sheet strip to outside of largest die cut frame piece (these strips will curve around the corners without twisting), adhere.  Your three pieces should telescope away from card front as shown.
