Choose Happy Halloween Card

Greetings!

Halloween is quickly approaching so I had to get at least one Halloween card posted for the season.  The Choose Happy stamp set is filled with images to take us through the entire year, and with a pumpkin and a jack-o-lantern face, it's easy to create a cute Halloween card.  It's also the time of year when using oranges and purples together is perfectly acceptable for a color palette, and with the images used it worked out beautifully!

Isn't it fun! As I was looking at the different stamps in the set, I realized how easily I could create a background with the word "BOO" and the jack-o-lantern faces. Since the pumpkins are a small image, adding multiples to the card helps create the focal point. The striped print from the In-Color Designer Series Papers (DSP) adds just the right touch to the background and adding a wrap of the Black & Very Vanilla checked ribbon gives it a nice balance.

If you have a hard time, or think you'll have a hard time creating all-over stamped backgrounds like this, grab a couple of images, mount them on clear blocks, and start playing.  Work in a triangular type of pattern, switch the orientation of the stamps, and give it a try.  It usually takes a time or two to get the right spacing so start with the larger image first to help you envision the spacing.  It's an easy way to create your own backgrounds in the colors and images you prefer.
