Choose Happy Caring Leaves Happy Thanksgiving Card

Greetings! 

Today's card features a stamp set I loved the minute I saw it, but kept telling myself I didn't need it.  Well, I decided to get it, and I'm so glad I did.  Which set am I talking about?  The Caring Leaves stamp set, which is a very simple stamp set.  It's a two step stamp set, meaning it has two separate stamps which complete the image when used together.  In this instance, one is a minimalistic outline of a leaf, and the other is a fill image.  It's a great set to use for creating an allover background print, which is what I did.  I don't do them often but I love the way it turned out!



It's such a simple technique, and these leaves are the perfect size to create a fun background.  

It's great to know there is at least one stamp set available this year with the Happy Thanksgiving in it, and that is the Choose Happy stamp set.  All the words are separate, so you can create whatever message you want, and I was thrilled to see "Thanksgiving" included.  

To add a bit more pizzazz to the background, a scattering of Peach Pie Shimmer Dots does the trick. 

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Caring Leaves stamp set
  • Choose Happy stamp set
  • Petal Pink cardstock 
    • card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2    OR    5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
    • 4 x 1
  • Cajun Craze cardstock
    • 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 panel
    • 4 x 3/4
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 5-1/4 x 4 panel
    • 4 x 5/8
    • scrap for leaf
  • Petal Pink Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Peach Pie Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Pecan Pie Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Peach Pie Shimmer Gems

Here's How It's Made:

Stamp leaves allover Basic White cardstock to create background as listed:
  • Round leaf fill - Petal Pink
  • Round leaf outline - Cajun Craze
  • Oak leaf fill - Peach Pie
  • Oak leaf outline - Pecan Pie

Adhere Basic White panel to Cajun Craze cardstock panel.  Ink words with Cajun Craze and stamp words side by side to create sentiment on Basic White cardstock strip.  Layer white onto Petal Pink cardstock strip, and adhere Cajun Craze cardstock with 1/4" exposed at bottom of Petal Pink.  Adhere to stamped leaf background panel 1" up from bottom.


Adhere to folded Petal Pink card front.  




Stamp a round leaf on scrap of Basic White cardstock, fussy cut, adhere to card front at right of sentiment.  Embellish with Peach Pie Shimmer Gems.
