Greetings!
Today's card features the new Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. Hybrid embossing folders consist of an embossing folder paired with a die, so you can emboss and die cut at the same time. You can also use each item separately giving you multiple options.
The Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder is full of wonderful greetings such as "hello, thinking of you, thank you" and more. Each greeting is unique in its font and font size so you have many options. I chose "Thinking of You" but any one of the greetings could easily be used with this card style.
Isn't it cute! Making it a square card just seemed right with these greetings and the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Papers (DSP) were my color inspiration. After deciding on the base color of Lemon Lolly I was ready for my layering. Looking at the colors in the DSP, I chose Starry Sky and Lemon Lime Twist. I cut full 6 x 6 pieces of each of the cardstock colors, so I could cut out all the greetings and assemble them all. Now there are greetings ready to go for many occasions and a quick card style to assemble them onto. I simply switched up the size of the flap to fit the size of the greeting.
The nice clean outlines are made using the Stampin' Brayer. It's a wonderful new tool introduced in the current Jan-April mini catalog and is the perfect tool to use with embossing folders to ink the raised parts without getting ink where you don't want it. This is just one of the ways a brayer can be used!
Gather Your Supplies:
- Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder
- Timeless Arrangements stamp set
- Lemon Lolly cardstock
- card base 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- side flap 4-1/4 x 1-3/4, scored & folded at 3-1/4
- Basic White cardstock
- Lemon Lime Twist cardstock
- Starry Sky cardstock
- Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
- 4 x 4
- 3 x 1-1/2 for inner flap
- 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 for inside
- Starry Sky Classic Stampin' Pad
- Stampin' Brayer

Here's How It's Made:
Roll Stampin' Brayer onto Starry Sky ink pad until brayer is completely covered with ink. Roll onto raised outline side of Thoughtful Moments embossing folder. Very carefully align Thoughtful Moments die onto brayered side of embossing folder, and secure with a couple pieces of clear tape or washi tape. Position Basic White cardstock onto other side of embossing folder, then carefully close embossing folder/die combo and run through Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine. Remove all die cut pieces. Clean embossing folder to remove remaining ink.
Die cut both Starry Sky and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Layer and offset the layers with Starry Sky on the bottom, then Lemon Lime Twist, then the inked, embossed Basic White message. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere completed message to Lemon Lolly cardstock flap with scored edge at the right side. NOTE: I considered using adhesive sheets before die cutting, then realized that there would have been a lot of adhesive left exposed with the layered, offset messages.
Adhere Bright & Beautiful DSP print to front of Lemon Lolly folded card base, centering. With card held close, position Lemon Lolly flap on card front, with scored edge at right side opening.
Fold scored 1" piece around and press and adhere to back of card. It should look like this:
Open flap and adhere small piece of DSP print to inside of flap, centering.
Die cut flowers from Starry Sky scrap piece. Adhere flowers around die cut message on front flap.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Ink "you make me smile" with Starry Sky, stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Adhere cardstock to DSP print, adhere to inside of card.
