Quiet Meadow Texture Chic Split & Flip card

Greetings!

Aah!  This past week I took a little break from my usual routine, spent the week out of town visiting family and friends and refilling my cup.  Part of my week was spending time with her, and we always end up doing something creative when we're together.  My mom was my first creative influence, teaching me to imagine, to color, to sew, to decorate, and that creative spirit has served me well my whole life!  She wanted to introduce stamping to a friend of hers, and we had such a fun time!  I love introducing stamping and Stampin' Up! to someone new.  Inspiring others is my greatest joy, and one of the things I love the most about stamping is that it's such a fabulous activity to do with others!

After leaving my moms, my next stop was spending time with a very dear friend who loves to stamp as much as I do, so of course, we had to have creative time together. My bag of goodies I had with me included an assortment of cardstock colors and papers, a few stamp sets, ink pads and adhesives, etc.  The Quiet Meadow stamp set, coordinating Meadow dies and the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Papers (DSP) were part of what I had with me.  I love having limited products with me so that I can stretch my creative muscles as to what I come up with.  The Texture Chic papers are absolutely gorgeous!  What makes them a specialty paper are the touches of gold foil on one side of each of the papers, and what better way to show that off than with a Split & Flip card.  Split & Flip is taking a piece of the DSP and cutting or tearing it so part of the card features one side of the paper, and the other part shows the reverse side.  I chose to tear the paper, so I cut the piece 4 x 6, giving me a little extra to overlap so there wasn't an odd gap in between the two prints and still have a completed front panel of 5-1/4 x 4.

Aren't those papers gorgeous!  You can see the gold foil on the bottom print, and those scattered flowers were my inspiration to use the Quiet Meadow stamp set and Meadow dies which pair beautifully to create this card.

Here's How It's Made:

Cut or tear DSP panel, adhere to Soft Succulent folded card base front so finished size measures 4 x 5-1/4.

Die cut two of the long stemmed dies from Blushing Bride cardstock, then ink scattered text die with Gray Granite, stamp off* once, and stamp onto die cuts repeatedly so they have letters on entire piece.  Die cut leafy branch die from Pool Party cardstock, then ink splatter stamp with Crumb Cake, stamp off once and stamp splatters onto die cut repeatedly.  Clean splatter stamp, ink with Soft Succulent, stamp off once and stamp splatters onto die cut repeatedly.

*Stamping off is a technique in which you stamp onto grid paper once or twice before stamping onto cardstock.  This gives a softer color to your image.

Here's a close-up:

Ink "Thinking of You" with Gray Granite, and stamp onto scattered shell print.  (I stamped it on an area free of shells).  Die cut with scalloped end label die from the Meadow dies.  Apply a couple strips of adhesive to the back of the label, loop Gray Granite Baker's Twine so loops show above and below.  Position die cut stems and leaves on right side half of card, adhere with Mini Glue Dots, and position label over die cuts, adhering with Stampin' Dimensionals.

NOTE:  I snipped approximately 1/4" off bottom of Petal Pink die cut stems.

Embellish with Bronze Brushed Metallic Dots.
