Perennial Lavender Prayers & Promises Trio of Sympathy Cards

 Greetings! 

Today's trio of cards features a message from the Prayers & Promises stamp set on cards adorned with beautiful scenes from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Papers (DSP).  


This stamp set features messages of sympathy, love, and support to help you create comforting cards for those who need them most.  By making a few to have on hand, you are always ready when an unfortunate occasion arises and you need a card quickly.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

12 x 12 cardstock is the perfect size for making these 4" square cards.  You will get three cards from one sheet, and have a 4x4 piece left over for a future project.   

Either 12 x 12 or 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers (DSP) work perfectly for the center panel, as it measures 3 x 3.  This card gets the most out of your DSP with no waste, making it a great size and style for any occasion.  If you use a square envelope, there is added postage, so I mail this size card in the standard medium envelopes.  Item # 159236

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Prayers & Promises stamp set
  • Modern Oval Punch
  • Basic White  cardstock 
    • card base 4 x 8 scored & folded at 4  (3) 
    • 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 (3)
    • 2-1/2 x 1-3/4 Modern Oval punched piece (3)
  • Highland Heather cardstock
    • 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 (3)
  • Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP)
    • 3 x 3 floral prints
  • Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Brushed Brass Butterflies (On the Last Chance list)
  • Paper Trimmer

Here's How It's Made:

Ink "So sorry..." with Gorgeous Grape, stamp near left side of Modern Oval punched piece.  Place piece on Paper Trimmer, score at right side just before oval begins to curve (1-3/4 from left edge).



Fold at score line.  Apply adhesive to underside of small scored edge, adhere to edge of Highland Heather cardstock at score line, centering.  


Adhere Highland Heather cardstock to Basic White folded card front.


Adhere DSP print to Basic White cardstock, adhere to Highland Heather cardstock.  Fold label over front and adhere.


Stamp the inside with one of the beautiful verses included in this stamp set.  Embellish fronts with Brushed Brass Butterflies.

These are perfect to have on hand when you need one, or make a great gift so your friends and loved ones have these on hand when needed.  As mentioned, the next blog post will feature an easy little box to store these cards in.

There are so many beautiful Designer Series Papers to choose from to make an assortment of cards like this.  Select your favorite, choose a coordinating cardstock color, and you are ready to start creating beautiful cards.
