Pop-up Petals Front Flap Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the new online exclusive Pop-up Petals bundle and a print from the Hobby Haven Designer Series Papers (DSP).

Techniques include modified die cutting and coloring with Stampin' Blends.

This card was CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from a sample directly from Stampin' Up!  I thought it was so clever, so I had to make one to share with you!  I changed up the DSP print and colored the flowers in with different colors from the sample Stampin' Up! shared.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

To achieve a flap such as shown on this card, place piece with the top edge of the die off the edge of the bottom cutting plate and line up top cutting plate even with bottom cutting plate.

This die cutting technique also works when wanting to die cut a specific shape by folding the cardstock in half, placing die with one edge of die extending beyond folded edge.  After it is run through die cut machine, the folded edge wasn't cut, so you now have a mini card in a specific shape.

Experiment and practice.  We are only limited by our imagination, and this whole card making and paper crafting experience is a great way to try new things.  It's just a little paper and cardstock :).

Here's How It's Made:

Position largest square die on 4 x 4 Basic White square, place on cutting plate so top edge of die is extending just beyond cutting plate, secure with sticky tape or note, place top cutting plate even with bottom one, die cut.  You should have the sides and bottom cut but not the top. Place straight edge at top of cut sides, score with stylus or bone folder to create fold line.  Ink dotted pot stamp with Memento Ink, stamp near bottom center of flap.

Die cut vase out of flap. Adhere panel to DSP panel, close flap, and adhere vase to DSP panel in opening, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Ink single tulip style flower with Memento Ink, stamp onto Basic White cardstock scrap, re-ink stamp and stamp one more flower, die cut both flowers.  Adhere to flap at top of vase opening. Ink "Thanks" only with Garden Green, stamp onto 2 x 5/8 Basic White cardstock strip, angle cut right edge.  Adhere at left edge of flap, overlapping bottoms of flowers, with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Ink flower bouquet with Memento Ink, stamp onto Basic White scrap, die cut.  Color leaves with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends, flower petals with Lt & Dk Pretty In Pink, and flower centers with Lt and Dk Petunia Pop Stampin' Blends.

Adhere bouquet to inside with Stampin' Dimensionals at top of bouquet only, tucking stems under top of vase.  Ink "for being there" with Garden Green, stamp onto 2 x 3/8 cardstock strip, adhere over bottom part of bouquet, aligning at right edge of opening.

NOTE: Attached finished piece to 4-1/4 square folded card base so you have somewhere to write a note.
