Delightful Wishes Simply Said Hello Collage Card

Greetings! 

Today's card is a delightful collage effect featuring dies from both the Creative Haven and Delightful Wishes die sets. With the many die cut elements a simple message such as "hello" is all that's needed.

Techniques include coloring with blending brushes, and two-step stamping and die cutting.

Beverly's Tip of the Day

There are multiple ways to spice up a background on your card, and this one features a couple examples.  The subtle stamping of the scattered flowers on the white tag is one way to add dimension to a layer or to use on the background layer.  The other way is the cutwork die cutting. This die is part of the Delightful Wishes die set and is an easy way to add a WOW! factor to your card.  

When shopping for dies, note the dies that are specifically made for these cutwork or textured design elements.  If you're not sure which dies these are, check the edges of the dies.  If there is no raised edge then it won't cut out around the image.  The other way to know is to look at the samples shown with the dies as it will usually include a sample with that feature. It's an eye-catching detail giving your handmade items a beautiful touch.

Gather Your Supplies:

• Delightful Wishes stamp set
• Delightful Wishes dies
• Simply Said stamp set
• Creative Haven dies
• Basic White Thick cardstock 
• card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
• Calypso Coral cardstock
• 4-3/4 x 4 panel
• Basic White cardstock
• 3 x 2-1/8 for tag die cut
• 2-1/2 x 1-5/8 for oval die cut
• scraps for flower and flower center(with adhesive sheet attached)
• Lemon Lime Twist cardstock
• scraps for leaf die cuts 
• Hobby Haven Designer Series Paper (DSP)
• 3-1/2 x 2-1/8 dotted blues print for banner die cut
• Lemon Lolly Classic Stampin' Pad
• Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' Pad
• Blending Brushes
• Linen Thread
• Dear Dots
• Adhesive Sheets
• Stampin' Dimensionals
• Paper Trimmer
• Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

Here's How It's Made:

Position cutwork die in upper right area of Calypso Coral cardstock panel, die cut.  Die cut tag from Basic White cardstock and banner from DSP.  Ink scattered flower stamp with Lemon Lolly, stamp onto tag, re-ink and repeat to fill tag.

Die cut large flower from Basic White cardstock, brush Lemon Lolly onto edges with Blending Brush.  Die cut large flower center detail with adhesive sheet attached, brush Lemon Lolly onto die cut.  Ink "hello" with Calypso Coral, stamp in upper right of oval die cut.  Ink small flower with Calypso Coral, stamp off twice, then stamp onto oval left of "hello".  Re-ink flower, stamp off twice, stamp below "hello" off right edge.  Ink flower outline stamp, stamp off once, stamp over flower, re-ink, repeat for remaining flower.  Die cut one of each of the leaves from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

Adhere Calypso Coral panel to folded card front. Adhere tag, banner and oval die cuts onto Calypso Coral panel, left and below cutwork detail, angling and overlapping as shown below.  

Assemble flower, attach leaves, and adhere at bottom left of oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Cut two 7-8" pieces of linen thread, thread through hole in tag, tie into bow.  

Embellish with Petal Pink and Balmy Blue Dear Dots.
