Greetings!
Today's card features the beautiful Layers of Beauty stamp set and die bundle. This stamp set has a wonderfully large stamp consisting of three roses surrounded by smaller flowers and leaves. It is a beautiful line art image perfect for using your favorite coloring technique with. For the card I'm showing you today I opted to use Stampin' Blends. The large image can be die cut completely or use the die that cuts out the largest rose and three leaves, which is what I opted to do.
Roses come in so many colors that it makes it a great flower to work with. I opened to the color wheel pictured on page 132 in the 2024-2025 annual catalog, and selected four adjacent shades; Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Petunia Pop and Berry Burst. I then continued the concept with the cardstock colors and embellishments so that each of the four colors are represented on this card. Using the Berry Burst cardstock as a top and bottom mat accent on the label gives this card a lovely pop of vibrancy against the other three more muted tones.
Coloring with the Stampin' Blends makes everyone feel like an artist. Being an alcohol-based marker, the ink dries quickly, so you don't get your cardstock all wet and rippled from coloring. I always start with my lightest shade, then fill in areas with the darker shades, with the inner part being the darkest for this rose. I then usually go over the entire image with the lightest color one more time to give it a little more smoothness between each color. If you haven't used the Stampin' Blends, I encourage you to add a few colors to your collection and start playing with them. You will love the way they work!

Here's How It's Made:
Emboss Bubble Bath cardstock panel with Painted Texture 3D embossing folder, adhere to Fresh Freesia folded card front.
Ink large rose with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp onto Basic White Thick cardstock.
Color rose beginning with Light Bubble Bath, then shading with Dark Bubble Bath, and continuing to shade areas darker with Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Light and Dark Petunia Pop Stampin' Blends. Color leaves with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. Die cut. Die cut 5 leaf die from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
Die cut Nested Essentials elongated hexagon label in Basic White cardstock and Berry Burst cardstock. Cut Berry Burst label in half lengthwise. Ink only "for you" and stamp in lower right space of white label, making sure to leave room for die cut rose.
Adhere die cut leaves to back of rose opposite of colored leaves. Adhere to label with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tie Petunia Pop ribbon into bow, adhere below rose with mini glue dots. Embellish with Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems.
