Greetings!
I fell in love with the entire Nature's Sweetness Suite Collection the second I saw it! It was the first thing I ordered. Ironically, I haven't played with it much yet...until now!
I pulled out the papers and stamp sets yesterday with the intention of using them together, and they just weren't speaking to me. I decided I wanted more color than all the neutrals in the papers, so I went a different direction. I chose to color the large stamp from the Lovely & Sweet stamp set with a few Stampin' Write Markers, stamp onto a softly brushed watercolor background, and anchor it all on a Garden Green card base. The Deckled Rectangle dies included the perfect sizes for layering and incorporate some fun edging to each layer.
It's been awhile since I've colored a stamp using the Stampin' Write Markers. This image definitely lends itself to the technique. Starting with a very faintly colored watercolor wash in Soft Sea Foam and adding a few splatters with some flicks of the brush gives it a more organic feel.
I wish I could tell you this card came together on the first try, but that would be false. I tried a couple different coloring techniques and at least three other color combinations before I settled on this one. Sometimes the color combinations I decide on also include which accessories will work with them and between the beautiful Blooming Pearls, the Flirty Flamingo Baker's twine and the Garden Green ribbon, that was certainly a factor! I even began this card with the intention of the orientation being portrait instead of landscape.
It's important to remember to let the idea you have in your head also include a good dose of flexibility, as sometimes the design has other ideas for you! 😂

Here's How It's Made:
In a small glass or plastic container, add a 1/4 teaspoon water and two drops of Soft Sea Foam ink refill. stir. Dip flat wide Water Painter brush into mixture, then gently wipe across Thick Basic White cardstock piece, repeat to color most of cardstock. In a separate container, squeeze 1-2 drops of Soft Sea Foam ink refill, tap Water Painter brush tip onto ink. Hold brush tip 4-6" above cardstock, flick tip with fingers to add splatters onto cardstock. Cardstock will curl a bit when wet and will flatten when dry. NOTE: Thick Basic White cardstock is recommended when doing water coloring, as it won't ripple and pill as regular cardstock may.
To ink stamp using markers, start with the lightest color first, using brush tip. Color flowers with Flirty Flamingo, seed pods with Pecan Pie, then color all leaves and stems with Garden Green. Breathe onto stamp a few times to evenly moisten ink, stamp onto water painted cardstock. Use writing tip of marker to carefully fill in any voids.
Position second largest Deckled Rectangle die around stamped image as shown, die cut.
Apply adhesive approx. 1/2" up from bottom on back sides of stamped/die cut image. Tie a knot in Garden Green 3/8" ribbon, position knot over stem, wrap ribbon ends around back of cardstock and press onto adhesive to secure. Add a mini glue dot under the knot to secure on front.
Die cut Flirty Flamingo cardstock with largest Deckled Rectangle die. Die is longer than cardstock, so bottom edge will be straight.
Adhere Thick Basic White layer onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock, centering.
Ink "Just sending a bit..." with Garden Green, stamp onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Die cut with smallest Deckled Rectangle die. Die cut Basic White cardstock with same small die, then cut in half near middle of length. Adhere cut pieces to back of Soft Sea Foam so they extend 1-1/8-1/4 at top and bottom edge.
Adhere assembled layers to Garden Green folded card base.
Tie Flirty Flamingo Baker's twine into a small bow, adhere below message on Soft Sea Foam.
Embellish with Blooming Pearls.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Die cut Basic White cardstock with second largest Deckled Rectangle die. Color flower with Flirty Flamingo marker and leaves with Garden Green. Stamp in lower right corner of cardstock, adhere to inside of card.
