Greetings!
The Inked Botanicals Designer Series Papers (DSP) have a wonderful variety of prints in lovely soft colors and were the starting point for my card today. I wanted to pair a couple of the prints from the DSP along with a simple stamped image which I found in the Color & Contour stamp set. The Scalloped Contours dies, which coordinate with the Color & Contour stamp set, are filled with scalloped edge rectangles in various sizes, each with a unique feature, as well as a large scalloped die long enough to run along the edge of a card front. I knew I wanted to use the large scalloped die along the edge of my card, and ended up using some of the smaller ones for the rest of the card as well. All the scalloped edges give it a lovely old-fashioned look which balances out nicely with the plaid print of the Designer Series Paper.
By having the scalloped edge along the opening, it allows for a strip of a coordinating print to accent the inside of the card. This still leaves plenty of room for a message inside and is an easy way to give your card a fancy feature without a lot of fuss.
Gather Your Supplies:
- Color & Contour stamp set
- Scalloped Contours dies
- Basic White cardstock
- card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2 OR 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- 4-1/4 x 3
- Pool Party cardstock
- Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper
- 5-1/2 x 4 Pool Party/Lost Lagoon plaid print
- 5-1/2 x 1-1/4 small splatters on Lost Lagoon print
- Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad
- Lost Lagoon Classic Stampin' Pad
- Pool Party Glossy Dots
- Petal Pink 1/4" ribbon - 7"

Here's How It's Made:
Place large scalloped die along long edge of Pool Party/Lost Lagoon plaid DSP print, so rounded scalloped edge will be about 1/4" in from edge, secure die with sticky notes, die cut. This should give you a finished die cut piece of 5-1/2 x 3-3/4. Adhere to Basic White card front with straight edge at center fold.
As shown above, after DSP is adhered to Basic White card base, position large scalloped die along edge of die cut DSP, secure with sticky notes, die cut. This will give you a layered scalloped die cut edge.
Ink 3-flower on stem outline stamp with
Lost Lagoon, stamp onto center of
Basic White cardstock. Ink fill stamp with
Pool Party and stamp onto
Lost Lagoon outline image. Die cut using scalloped rectangle die measuring 3-3/4 x 2-1/2.
Ink "Here for you now" in Lost Lagoon, stamp onto Pool Party cardstock, centering. Die cut using scalloped rectangle die measuring 2-1/2 x 1-1/4. Fold Petal Pink 1/4" ribbon in half and adhere to back of label, with folded end extending out right side and cut ends extending out left side. Adhere to Basic White stamped rectangle as shown in photo below:
Adhere assembled layers to card front, positioning so ribbon extends beyond large scalloped die cut edge.
Embellish with small and large Pool Party Glossy Dots.
Adhere 5-1/2 x 1-1/4 small splatters on Lost Lagoon DSP print to inside right edge.
