Charming Sentiment Mega News on Enjoy the Journey DSP

Greetings!

For today's card I wanted to make a card that used a punch or two so that's where I started.  I looked at a few of the punches I had, pulled a couple stamp sets out, and decided that whatever I made, I was determined to use the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP).  This pack of paper has a great variety of prints and patterns in colors ranging from the earthy greens and blues to bright yellows and pinks, with all the shades in between.  I narrowed my selection to the earthy tones, the Banners Pick a Punch and the Charming Sentiments stamp set.  This card will work very well for graduation, a new job or promotion, retirement, a baby and much, much more!

The Banners Pick a Punch is a fabulous punch!  It has both the convex and concave banner ends giving it amazing versatility for such a simple design.  As you can see, I chose to use both for this card.  This punch has channels for the sizes of 1/2", 3/4" and 1" strips of paper in any length you choose.  The banners with the words on them were made simply by using Paper Snips, cutting a short slit in the center and then cutting up to the end of the slit from each edge.

It's a quick and easy celebratory card that you can easily switch up by using the bright colors from the same Enjoy the Journey DSP.  Here is an alternate color combination:

As you can see, the card works just as well with using the alternate color combination from the same DSP pack, the same stamp set and punch.  If you need multiple cards to have on hand, this is an easy one to assemble in a hurry, and still have a fun card!

When the Charming Sentiments bundle was introduced it was one of the very first sets I purchased.  What made this set such a draw are the wonderful dies accompanying it which cut right around each sentiment so it's unnecessary to have to find a label or shape of some type to stamp the message onto.  For today's card, I didn't use the dies, however, if you are not a fan of fussy cutting, this is a great set to have to spare your hands all the cutting and still get the look of it.  The dies also include a variety of accoutrements such as little hearts, candles, stars and more to accessorize your cards with.   It's a great bundle!

Here's How It's Made:
Adhere Garden Green diamond print DSP to folded Mossy Meadow card front.

Insert each 1 x 4" strip of DSP into the Banners Pick a Punch, punching two of the strips with concaved ends, and one with convexed ends.  Adhere to card front by centering convexed label in middle, then spacing the other two 3/8" from long edge above and below.

Ink "WOO-HOO" and stamp onto Pool Party piece, re-inking and re-stamping multiple times at various angles from top to bottom.  Using Paper Snips, cut a 1/4" slit at middle bottom of cardstock piece, then cut up at an angle from each lower corner.  Ink "Super fantastic Mega News!" with Garden Green, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, leaving space at top edge for twine wrap.  Cut 1/4" slit it middle bottom of Basic White piece, then cut up at angle from each lower corner.

Adhere "Woo-hoo" banner to front of card, centering.  Wrap Garden Green twine around top edge of Basic White piece, tie knot.  Tuck string under wrapped twine so both loose ends face down.  Adhere "Super fantastic..." piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here is the same card in the alternate colors:

All dimensions are the same as for the green/blue card.  The card base is Polished Pink, the banner is Fresh Freesia, the ink colors are Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink, and the Pumpkin Pie twine is part of the same three twine combo pack.
