Greetings!
There are so many amazing products in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog that it's so hard to narrow down what to use! I also absolutely love the Artfully Layered Bundle from the current January-June Mini Catalog, which is only around for a few more weeks, so I paired some of my favorites together from both catalogs to create this gorgeous card for you.
The Artfully Layered Bundle has wonderful large leafy images to die cut as well as generously sized stamps plus images to create fun backgrounds. The new Happiness Abounds stamp set includes messages I am finding myself reaching for again and again as they always seem to say just the right thing! And check out the beautiful label which is from the new All That dies. This die set has labels in a fabulous variety of shapes! Add them all together and here's what you have:
Notice the gorgeous new Orchid Oasis color of the lower leaf outline. So vibrant!
These adorable Fun Flowers Resin Shapes are the perfect accent to give some additional pops of color and are just too cute to resist! The great thing about these little flowers is that they're not very thick so they can be easily mailed without poking through the envelope and damaging the card. If you love a little something added on to your card for bling, these are a great choice. The package includes 5 different colors of flowers in two sizes, giving you a lot of versatility. Here's How It's Made:
Adhere Adhesive Sheet pieces to back of White Script print Vellum, Orchid Oasis cardstock and Soft Succulent cardstock. Die cut detailed leaf twice, once from Orchid Oasis and once from Vellum. Die cut Soft Succulent cardstock with large open cut leafy die.
Ink text stamp from Artfully Layered stamp set with Orchid Oasis. Stamp off twice, then stamp onto Basic White cardstock panel on upper edge near left side. Ink, stamp off twice, and stamp again near bottom right edge. Ink again, stamp off, and stamp a small portion on left edge. Ink small scattered leaf with Pale Papaya, stamp off once, then stamp partially over the text images you just stamped. Ink large leaf with Soft Sea Foam, stamp off once, then stamp onto Basic White, angled angled with top facing upper left corner. Here's a close-up:
Peel backing off of leafy die cut, leaving a few centers in if you wish, place on Basic White panel so it's overlapping stamped large leaf, and angled with upper edge to the right.
Peel backing off Orchid Oasis detailed leaf and adhere with top of leaf facing lower left corner of Basic White panel. Peel backing from inner parts of Vellum Script detailed leaf die cut to fill in negative space, as below:
The scripted vellum is very subtle, but a great feature to this leaf. Make sure to save the outline and inner pieces from your leaves, as you will be using them on the inside.
Wrap 1/8" Petal Pink Cotton Ribbon around Basic White panel, so cut ends are at opposite sides of front. Run a strip of Stampin' Seal in middle of panel where leaf stems intersect, to hold ribbon secure. Ink "You are Wonderful..." from the Happiness Abounds stamp set with Calypso Coral and stamp onto Petal Pink cardstock. Die cut label from All That Dies. Adhere over ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Embellish with Starry Sky and Calypso Coral Fun Flowers.
Here's What the Inside Looks Like:
Peel adhesive off back of detailed leaf pieces, and adhere to upper right corner of Basic White 5-1/4 x 4 panel.
Ink "Wishing you..." with Orchid Oasis and stamp in center of Basic White panel. Ink "Happy Birthday" with Calypso Coral and ink below message.
Adhere panel to inside of card.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how fun it is to work with die cut pieces like the detailed leaf. Being able to use the "negative spaces" gives you so much versatility and nothing goes to waste.
If you haven't tried the Adhesive Sheets yet, I strongly encourage it for detailed die cuts. It can sometimes be a bit tricky to grab an edge and pull off the protective backing, but it's so worth it to have a die cut that solidly adheres to your card without the mess of sticky fingers and shiny glue spots that can show when using liquid glue. The Adhesive Sheets come in 12 x 6 sheets, and are scored every 2" on the 6" width, so it makes it easy to cut small pieces from the sheet and use only what is needed. Love them!
