Grid Paper - 10 reasons it's your best stampin' friend

 Greetings!

Today is all about Grid Paper!  Are you thinking how can she possibly do a whole post on nothing but Grid Paper?  Read on! 😊

Grid Paper is so much more than just a piece of paper!

1. It's a great protective layer to keep your work surface from getting inked up.

2. It's a 10" x 16" workspace with 1/4" grid which helps you keep your layers straight and even.  Line up the edge of your card piece on one of the grid lines and then make sure your layered piece is lined up by following the grid line.  Who knew it could be this easy!

3. It has rulers on all four sides making it a quick and easy way to double check your measurement before cutting or scoring your cardstock.

4. Do you have a card you LOVE and want to make more of?   It's as easy as 1-2-3 with your grid paper.  Simply slide each layer up to the edge of the grid paper to get your measurement.  Write down the measurement for each piece along with a quick sketch of the card and you have all your information for cutting and assembling your next masterpiece right on your workspace.

5. Write your ideas down as they come! There's a section for NOTES right on the paper.  It's easy to keep the thoughts and ideas front and center when you see them while you're working.

6. Your grid paper is the perfect tool for ensuring your stamps are lined up on your blocks.  Clear blocks make it easy for positioning your stamps. Place your block on the grid, lining up an edge.  Place stamp with rubber side up so you can visually align it with the grid.  Ink and stamp to see if it is straight with edge of block.  Adjust until you get it aligned and you are ready to stamp.

Taking time to align your stamp onto your block
eliminates the frustration of a crooked message on your card.

7. Are your ideas coming fast and furious while you are designing and assembling?  WISH LIST to the rescue! Write down the products you're getting low on or the something new you want to add to your inventory.  Now that you've written it down your brain is free for more creativity!

8. It's your perfect tool for trying out your custom stamped background idea.  Stamp your various images in the pattern you are envisioning onto your grid paper to see if you like how it looks.

9. Are you planning on stamping off the edges of your cardstock piece or using a sponge brayer?  Have your grid paper beneath your cardstock so you eliminate concerns of ink landing where you don't want it.

10. Use it as your pre-cleaner for your stamps. Stamp off as much ink as possible onto your grid paper before using your shammy or cleaning pad.  This eliminates your cleaning pads getting full of ink as quickly.

11. BONUS! Use a piece of your grid paper as a designer paper layer on your card.  The simple grid is a perfect background behind your beautiful stamped focal point.

So, have I convinced you of the many benefits of Grid Paper?  😊
