Beauty Abounds in a million ways

 Hello, hello!

The Beauty Abounds stamp set offers an interesting variety of images.  There are circles and butterflies, a rather whimsical floral arrangement, a splatter and some lovely sentiments and messages.  For this card I'm sharing with you today I created a background paper using the two circle collage stamps along with the splatter. The circle stamps intentionally have dot patterns that are different concentrations so some circles appear lighter than others.  This really adds a lot of dimension and depth to the stamps and the background.

How cute are those little butterflies!

The adorable little butterflies are from the Butterfly Beauty dies which coordinate with the Beauty Abounds stamp set.  The best part is there are a total of six, yes six! dies for the tiny butterflies with four of those dies cutting them in pairs. This gives you the benefit of cutting out a whole lot of tiny butterflies with just one pass through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

Having the message in different sized circles was completely inspired by the stamps used to create the background. These circles are cut using the Stitched Shapes dies.  This fantastic set of dies has circles, ovals and squares with the stitched feature around the edges all in one die set!  A great bang for your buck!

Don't you just LOVE when there is a combination of script and block style fonts together.  It's such a beautiful pairing!  To really make the message the focal point I heat embossed the messages with the White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Heat embossing is my favorite way to really get the message to pop on dark colored cardstock.

Assembly Tips & Techniques:
  • When creating a background paper remember to stamp over the edges to give the design a cut look.  Stamp your pattern in somewhat of a triangular or random pattern.  Practice on your grid paper first until you find the spacing and color combination that you like best.
  • When placing small pieces like the little butterflies, lay them out on the card after your other pieces are in place and move them around until you like where they're placed.  I nudge them aside just a little so I can put down by small dot of liquid glue, then place them on the glue.  This way they stay in the pattern I have arranged them in.
  • Gently rubbing the piece of cardstock you intend to emboss on with wax paper hinders the embossing powder from sticking to the cardstock other than where the stamped image is inked.  Always make sure your hands are free of any water or lotion when heat embossing, otherwise the embossing powder will stick to those areas and your background will look spotty.
Have fun!  When working on your card remember that this is intended to be an enjoyable and creative process.  Creating random backgrounds is an easy way to spread your creative wings and not worry about being perfect!
