Hinged-lid Mini Gift Box in Melon Mambo with Black & White

Greetings!

Sometimes the hardest part about a blog post is coming up with the title!  Trying to find a way to be descriptive without getting too lengthy and still incorporating enough information to invite interest is a challenge!  If you're reading this, it means I made it past the first hurdle 😄

I recently decorated some premade boxes and decided I wanted to create a little box that I could decorate and use for today's blog post.  The box is very simple and a great size for a couple little treats and a note.  There are lots of pictures to take you through the steps of assembly and I hope you find it's worth it when you see how easy it is to make and decorate.  First step, seeing the picture so you know how it turned out.  😃

Yes the box is adorable, however, it wouldn't be complete if it didn't include a tiny card inside to go with whatever little treat(s) you include.  😄

The black & white floral print is one of the papers from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Papers (DSP) and provides the perfect print with a little coloring from Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.

The Go To Greetings stamp set provides a "thank you" sized just right to fit in the small Tailored Tags die, and the message on the little card insert is from the Sentimental Park stamp set.

Here's How It's Made:
Here's how the box is made:
Step 1: score at 1",4",5" and 8" along 9" edge

Step 2: turn and score at 1" and 3" along 4" end

Step 3: Cut at all scored lines along 9" ends to intersecting score lines (1"), angling cuts slightly as shown in photo below.

Step 4:Fold at all scored lines, burnishing with bone folder for crisp edges.  Apply glue to small flaps as shown, then fold in glued pieces to inside edges, with middle two gluing to insides of bottom of box.

Step 5: Assembled box should look like this.

Using Melon Mambo Light and Dark Stampin' Blends, color in flower petals of flowers with leaves attached.  Color leaves with Lemon Lime Twist Light and Dark Stampin' Blends.  NOTE: I did not color in all flowers with leaves - I chose a scattering of them to color in for each piece.

Adhere colored DSP pieces to corresponding top and sides of box lid.

Ink "Thank You" stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Die cut using the smallest tag die with the rounded top.  Die cut Melon Mambo cardstock using the same tag die.  Die cut a circle from Melon Mambo cardstock, and glue to encircle hole in Basic White tag.

Thread Black & White 1/4" Gingham ribbon through hole of both tags. With ribbon extending over end of tags, secure by wrapping Black Baker's Twine around all ribbon ends and tie a knot.  Adhere to box top with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Ink "--FOR--" with Tuxedo Black Ink and stamp at top of Basic White small card insert.  Ink "All the wonderful..." with Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp below "--FOR--", centering.

Adhere small piece of colored floral DSP print to bottom part of card.

Wrap Black Baker's Twine around card front by fold, tie into a bow.  Trim ends.
