Greetings!
The other day I had a zoom meeting with my newest team member. She lives halfway across the country from me, so getting together in person is a bit of a challenge. Even though she is fairly new to the world of stamping and die cutting, she jumped in with both feet so I want to make sure her experience is enjoyable and successful. After chatting for awhile and getting to know more about her, I walked her through a few of the basics for stamping and die cutting. I chose the Cheerful Daisies Bundle along with the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Papers (DSP) as we are both lovers of flowers, and this collection is gorgeous and versatile.
I chose a Bubble Bath card base, pulled some scraps of Basic White cardstock, a strip of Moody Mauve cardstock and a small piece of Copper Clay cardstock, and the Moody Mauve and Bubble Bath ink pads. These cardstocks and inks were all pulled based on the piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP print that has scattered white and Bubble Bath daises on a Moody Mauve background with accents of Copper Clay and Wild Wheat. A simple outline stamp of the large daisy, a center stamped in Bubble Bath, and a leafy sprig die cut in Copper Clay was all it took to show so many techniques, explain the wonderful characteristics of the coordination of stamps, dies, papers and colors, and we made a fun card together. The Cheerful Daisies dies include a perfectly sized uniquely designed label die for stamping the greeting onto, and provides just the right greeting for all these happy daisies.
Isn't it lovely! You can see I also cut out the large daisy using the two dies to give it detail. We decided we liked the look of the stamped one better for this card, so now I have an extra one to play with and use on another card.
This is the fun of playing with the various dies and stamps, trying out a few things and seeing which works best for the current card. It never means anything is going to waste, it will simply get used in a different way on another card. This is where you can really allow your creative juices to flow and have fun! Creating cards should be an enjoyable, rewarding experience, whether you are making them by yourself, or sharing creative time with others - either in person or via the internet.
While the Cheerful Daisies stamp set has beautiful greetings, I always like to have stamp sets on hand that provide lovely messages for the inside of cards. The Very Best Occasions stamp set has a wonderful assortment of messages, as well as greetings, to get us through many of the occasions we encounter throughout the year. This set provided the perfect message to add inside the card.
NOTE: The Fresh As a Daisy Designer Series Papers, as well as many others, are on sale for 15% off through June 30th. Now is the perfect time to stock up on all the beautiful papers! Remember to add them to your order and take advantage of this fabulous sale!

Here's How It's Made:
Cut a 3/4" piece off one short end of the DSP so you have a 5-1/4 x 4" panel and a 4 x 3/4" piece. Adhere scattered daisy DSP panel to Bubble Bath folded card base. Adhere Moody Mauve cardstock to DSP panel, centering top and bottom. Adhere 3/4" x 4" Wild Wheat DSP (this is the flip side of the scattered daisies print) on Moody Mauve strip, 1/4" from right edge, centering top and bottom.
Ink large daisy outline stamp with Moody Mauve, stamp onto Basic White cardstock, die cut.
When die cutting stamped images, use sticky notes, washi tape or Post-it notes, to help hold your die in place over your stamped image. If it's a larger die or a frame style die, I recommend sticky notes in two places to make sure die doesn't move after you put top cutting plate on.
Ink large flower center stamp with Bubble Bath, stamp onto center of stamped and die cut daisy. Die cut leafy sprig from Copper Clay cardstock. Adhere sprig and daisy to Moody Mauve strip at left edge of Wild Wheat DSP strip, with top part of sprig tucked under flower.
Die cut label from Basic White cardstock. Ink "wishing you..." with Bubble Bath and stamp near upper edge of label, centering. NOTE: You may reverse this process if you prefer to stamp the message first, then die cut it. I recommend using a sticky note as mentioned in the italicized note above to keep your die in place for die cutting.
Adhere label over Wild Wheat DSP strip to right of daisy. Embellish label and flower petal with Gold and Petal Pink adhesive-backed sequins.
Here's what the inside looks like:
Ink "Sending you smiles..." with Bubble Bath and stamp in center of Basic White cardstock. Ink small outlined daisy stamp with Moody Mauve and stamp in upper left corner of Basic White cardstock piece, and ink small flower cluster with Bubble Bath, stamp in lower right corner. Ink small flower center stamp with Bubble Bath and stamp in center of Moody Mauve daisy.
Adhere stamped panel to inside of card.
